Essay

How much impact does city government have on the city’s economy a lot, some, not much at all. Choose one and give 5 reasons for the choice. (about New York City)400 word is good.

The local government, although controlled by particular sanctions coming from the national government, has a direct command on what happens to the city that it is supposed to manage. For instance, the local government administrators are the ones who directly see what is needed by the people and what needs to be improved in the community. Knowing the problems and the expanse of resources that the city has and other resources it is able to import from other neighboring areas, the administrators would be able to set a distinct path towards determining what specifically responds to the issues that the people have to deal with.

As supposed managers of the city, the administrators of the local city government have the power to manipulate the situation according to the goals they have set for themselves and for the people. The way they would want everyone to benefit from the developments that the city would incur could be determined on how they administer particular economic laws that are directed towards creating a more effective system of mandating the current city’s budget or wealth resource to empower the lives of the people, thus allowing them to earn as much as they need and become specifically involved in the concept of developing personal economic goals that further spur on the development of the city’s overall economic status.     To note, here are some five points that determined the role of the city government in controlling the primary economic status of the entire city and its people:

  • Providing satisfaction for the people empowers them to work more thus fueling the overall status of the city’s economy
  • Creating policies that would increase the interest of the people to work increases the capacity of the city to generate profit as well
  • Developing programs that would practically attract investors into the city and create work opportunities for the people would lower down unemployment rates
  • Creating options for people to establish their own businesses fuel the micro-economy of the city which has a great impact on the overall economic status of the city
  • Manipulating resources that are available to the city and making use of it to determine the direction of the economy of the people and the entire community shall make it easier for the administrators to find relative ways to improve the system of living among its people

Considerably, the city administrators have the strongest hold on what goes on with the community and how their resources are to be handled accordingly. With good command on governance and administration, the city government would be able to manifest good intentions especially when it comes to determining good future for the residents of the city. It is through this that the government attests to its role as the primary manager of the city and its people along with the resources they have that could give them a better chance at a much improved economy towards the future.
