Question: explain the way in which our interpretive lens may influence the manner we perceive and experience a theatrical event

Interpretive lens influences the manner the audience perceives and experience theatrical event. The culture, ethnicity, sexuality, age, gender, and past and present experience orientation influence how audience constructs their understanding of the theatric event. A theatric event is thus experienced differently by different audience. Different study on audience analysis has revealed different audience construct a theater event as temporally unique in a different way. This can be explained by the fact that culture, ethnicity, age, sex, and experiences of an individual are unique and thus their perception is different. The uniqueness of how different human experience the world is largely based on the perception.

So what is a perception? Perception is the process of becoming aware of the objects and event from the sense. Due to the fact that our perception is a unique communication among individual becomes complicated. Our mind chooses, organize, and interpret what we sense. An individual interprets what him or her sense.

The difference in perception among individuals is due to different past experience and roles, culture, beliefs, religion, education. Also, the present feeling, circumstances, and experiences make our perception be different.  Other factors that make our perception to be different include sex and physiological factors.

When interpreting the event of a theater, the audience relies on their perception. For instance, due to experience or culture we can become so accustomed to seeing places or people and situation in a certain way that our sense fails to pick the obvious.

Representation of information is also very important. It affects the way the audience interpret the information. How information is represented can change the meaning of the information. Thus, I agree with the notion that Representation works innocently and transparently.
