The Perfect Healthcare System, Essay Example

Words: 623

Essay

Characteristics of a country discussed from the video and text that can be applied in creating a perfect health care system relate to United States of America. With reference to cost America has been rated the highest among developed nations around the world. Analysts have further advanced that health care costs regulations in United States of America do not depict a system, but rather a market style (Shi &. Singh, 2004). If this is the issue as it pertains to costs it could still be considered a means of adopting one of the perfect systems in the world everyone in America could afford health care costs.

America has a unique healthcare system that could be considered one of the best in the world. Veterans do not pay for health care, seniors have managed care whereby they see a network of doctors, eligible poor are coverage under Medicaid, a government subsided intervention. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) insures that all Americans can pay for healthcare in the market place provisions. They have the option of buying insurance at an affordable cost. According to their income, they have access to a government subsidized program. Even undocumented immigrants have programs where they can pay for healthcare, while not covered under the Affordable Care Act. America currently has a huge uncommented immigrant presence within the country. To the benefit of American politicians this segment of the society is kept undocumented and are not being deported to their counties because it is claimed to be too costly. They work and once they have no work permits employers cannot provide insurance policies for them. They must pay out of pocket. The perfect healthcare system within such a country does allow undocumented immigrants access to healthcare they can afford without reducing the quality.

Persons against illegal immigration contend that these 11million undocumented immigrants are responsible for the high health care costs in the country because there is no way they can pay the bills when become hospitalized. Apart from the poor American citizen/legal resident population this group forms the largest amount of uninsured in the country. This perfect healthcare market allows through healthcare reform has allowed access through programs that still allow access to quality healthcare.

All persons are allowed access to health care through a comprehensive market system. The ion can purchase from a network of private providers. The Federal government does not regulate cost as such physician and healthcare instructions can charge fees to cover the cost of operation. In countries where the federal regulates health care providers are often underpaid. This does not happen in this perfect health care market that functions in the United States of America (PBS Video, 2008).

Under the present managed care system Americans have full access to a variety of physicians and specialists without a long waiting period. Their state of the art technology allows the population to have a high quality of care based on continuous research. This makes healthcare marketable in relation to other countries where healthcare is not provided through evidence based practices from current research findings. Two issues that affect America’s healthcare market are addressed under several programs in the market place. They pertain to ensuring improved quality of care through the affordable care act and coverage for 11 million undocumented immigrants. America has moved from a traditional healthcare system to a  market place  structure which has reduced cost immensely provide more healthcare access to its diverse population and accelerated quality of care. In my opinion this is the perfect healthcare delivery structure which can be converted into a workable system.
