The Story of the Twenty Dollar Bill, Essay Example

It is 2013. My name is Andrew. I am a freshly minted twenty dollar bill. I had been dispensed to a check cashing house in San Francisco. I was minted in Denver Colorado, where I stayed for about a year. Now I am in the hands of an elderly lady. She has me with a collection of other twenty dollar bills. I heard a student coming to see her. The student said that he had been working his way through college. This was the reason that the student approached. As the elderly lady gave me to the student, I heard the student say: ¨Thanks for letting me mow your lawn¨.

The student was tight fisted with me. I stayed with him for several days. He finally gave me to a nice young girl who had been selling cookies. As the student gave me to the little girl, I heard her say, ¨Thank you for buying girls scout cookies¨. The little girl held on to me for a few days. She went to a bakery. There had been a little boy who was crying. The boy wanted a cake and it was his birthday. The Girl Scout felt sorry for the boy and his mother.

The little girl gave me to the boy and his mother. The lady was so happy that she kept me as a souvenir in a frame for five years. I did not see the light of day until 2018. The lady passed away and I have been taken care of by the boy who was now a young man. As the young man read the newspaper, a tear fell from his eye. He saw that the young Girl Scout had been stricken with cancer as a young woman.

The young lady´s cancer diagnosis occurred after helping hundreds of people while she had been selling girls scout cookies. She was at Memorial Hospital. The young man deposited me with a ¨Get well soon¨ memorial for the young lady who had once been a girl scout. I stayed in the hospital with her for the next two years until she passed away. The year is now 2021…..
