Introduction

The term immigration can be looked in various ways. Many of us have taken that immigration simply implies to only human being. This is wrong since it happens in all living things including birds, animals and living human being. When the weather turns from warm to cold, the birds tend to move from one country to another. The main thing that the birds try to find is warm weather. Therefore, this movement of the birds from one country to another can also be referred to us immigration. Human being also moves, from one country to another either for a short period of time or to stay forever (Dickinson).

Those who moves to other country for a period of time we refer to them as tourists while those who move from one country to another to stay we call them immigrants, hence their action is termed as immigration. They do move to another country with an intention of becoming a citizen of that nation. The number of the immigrants has been increasing tremendously on the annual basis.

Types of immigration

There are three types of immigration (Leonard):

Seasonal Immigration: – This type of immigration takes place seasonally. It includes moving with cattle, goats, sheep and any other animals to find a good environment that favors them. A farmer may decide to move with all the animals during the summer season to get a place or a country that is experiencing winter. If this happens, then we can say that seasonal immigration has taken place.

Rural to Urban Immigration: – This type of immigration takes place mostly in urbanized nations, which means that it takes place in developing countries. Those living in rural areas tend to move to urbanized regions may be for employment or for better living.

Urban to Rural Immigration: – Due to the population increase in urban centers, people tends to move to the rural areas. This type of immigration is mostly common in the developed countries (Sauna).

The total number of immigrants worldwide has reached to 192 billion to the current year.

Since the number of immigration has been increasing annually, below is a chart showing their increase in different countries annually (Gichan).

Reasons for immigration

• People immigrate because they want to explore other nations. They like having what they did not have in their mother land. This helps them to expand their knowledge and make themselves better (Richard).
• Other people immigrate due to pressure of being forced to do so. This happens because of conflict or to escape prosecution and prejudice.
• Some of the people move to another country to look for a better living. They do risks their lives just hoping that nothing will happen to them but by the end of the day they will have a better salary to take care of their families. This might be difficult to some of us because it is strange to go to another country while knowing that you will have nobody to communicate and share ideas with.
• On the other hand, there those who immigrate to meet the people they love. A woman abandons her family to go to a man who she is in love with. This man might be living in a different nation, but the woman does not care about it, as long as they are together.
• Others immigrants from their original country because of the fear of civil war and an outbreak of any disease. They better start a new life from a foreign .country that risking their lives.
• While a well urbanized nation sees that its territory is being attacked by the immigrants, it places new rules that make the immigration more difficult. As a consequence of this, numerous unlawful immigrants pass through the borders and are enthusiastic to employment, even if they are paid only at half of the sum of money native workers get for the similar kind of employment.
• Other citizens like the footballers and the athletes go to another country with an intention of playing to that nation. They end up being given full citizenship of the country and they earn loots of money.

Effects of Immigration

The effect of immigration can be seen as positive or negative depending with the country that experiences immigration. Let us look at the combined effects of immigration (Stacy).

• The immigrants have facilitated depress of the income for the workers who have low skills. The low income query has brought a very big difference between the economic analyses. It has been noted by the economists that the effect is slightly while others say that the effect is huge.
• Natives can react to the wage consequence of immigration by relocating their effort or assets to new towns. For instant, the firms that are owned by native people see that towns in Southern California are filled up by immigrants who are low skilled and pay fewer wages to those who do labor. Employers who employ laborers will desire to reposition to those cities. The abundance of jobs to the immigrant-hit areas mitigates the inauspicious consequence of immigration on the wage of contending workers in those localities.
• Immigration lowers the inflation since those who tend to invest pays tax to the government. The immigrant who stays in rental houses boosts the rents and housing values.
• It also increases the general economic growth of a country. For instance the economic growth of United States of America has grown rapidly due to the increased number of the immigrants annually. But there are other countries such as African countries which tend to have a decrease in the economic growth. This happens because most of its citizens tend to immigrate to the Europeans countries.
• Immigration carries itself with some of the diseases from other countries hence affecting the countries that the immigrants have gone to.
• Education is also a cofactor here where the immigrants find themselves to a better school than the citizens of that country. This happens may be from the good payment they get or support from the government funds.

Conclusion

From this work, we can take that Immigration can be as a form of being courageous. This is because it is not easy to move to another country with different culture and norms. The action can be daunting and the potential loneliness to be suffered is not always easy to overcome.

The flow of jobs and workers is likely to make the financial conditions equal across cities. As a consequence, inter-city differences will not be very enlightening. The flow of Jobs in concert with the native immigration productively diffuses the consequence of immigration across the country’s financial system. In the end, all laborers, in spite of of where they live, are worse off since there are now a number of them.
