The Textile Industry and Global Warming, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 428

Essay

In line with the onset of the environmental issues happening at present, the society feels the need to face the challenge in consideration with the need to reduce their carbon footprint contribution at the best procedure possible. In the field of fashion industry, it is a specific concern on how the textile production should make specific changes in their procedures especially when it comes to harvesting fleece and other raw materials used for the creation of textile.

The quality of textile used in creating fashionable clothing specifically influences the price of every clothing line released in the market. This is the reason why during the textile production system, manufacturers often utilize complex and tedious factory-procedures that are often applied for the need to increase the quality of the textile which involves purifying the raw materials. These procedures are noted to be specifically hazardous to the environment. Notably, this is the reason why when it comes to reducing the effects of global warming in line with the position of the fashion industry with regards the matter, it is essential that the process of producing textile be readjusted.

One of the most recent developments that have been introduced to the industry of fashion regarding this matter is the creation of organic textile. The term used is organic as it has been based on the organic protection and nourishment provided to the cattle and sheep that are being cared for by harvesters of textile raw materials. Delivery and transport of the raw materials are proposed to be handled by trucks and vehicles that use less fuel, more efficient and are dedicated to sustainable energy use systems. At this point, the raw material-purification process is expected to have lower rate of complexity hence leveling down the pollution coming from factories that manufacture textile.

From here, it could be analyzed that the overall desire to lower down the contribution of the fashion industry in global warming involves a great deal of actors in the field and the cooperation that they have towards the campaign being pushed through. It is only with such cooperative attitude that the fashion industry would be able to contribute less to carbon footprint that aggravates the issue regarding global warming. In this case, designers are then supposed to be innovative enough to utilize new set of produced textile from organic industries hence increasing their contribution to the environmental campaign while not losing their touch regarding style.
