Policies will be presented through powerpoint presentation, office memos, and YouTube tutorials. This is a new policy to implement social media changes in the workplace. This will also expose workers to new ways of presenting material, and to shift the workplace dynamic into the current technological age.

Procedures will now include employee/customer interface through FaceTime, Google Hangouts, and Skype. Other procedure policy changes will include Green Fridays (this is done in other organizations such as National Geographic Society) in which every other Friday is a day off; this is done in order to curtail electricity costs and to be environmentally conscious. Also, employees will be allowed to work from home one day of the week (Cooper, 2013, para. 1-5).

Whenever a merger takes place certain personnel will quit within the first two weeks, in order to prepare for such a scenario HR will be prepped by researching potential employees for different departments through LinkedIn – which will be used as a hiring tool (DeMers, 2014, para. 1-4). In a merger, a lot more responsibility falls to the manager of a company so during this transition period an outside hire will come to help with this transition. This person, merger manager, will aid in different transitional operations such as moving employees, acclimation procedures, staff training, etc. in order to improve the rate of quitting and in order to have as less stress as possible in the workplace. The merger manager will also take care of employee complaints, and will hire a special team of customer relations employees to ensure that customers are still feeling cared for and not neglected during the merger.
