The United States Is a World Power, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 315

Essay

The United States is a world power, and its presence and role has been imminent since the late 90s to the present time. The historic agreement that saw the signing of an accord between Iran, the United States and five other world powers will see the United States increase its influence and presence and influence in the Middle East in overall.

Israel indicated their level of disappointment in the agreement since they had high expectations of the nuclear program being halted and brought to an end in Iran. This has been a resultant expectation due to the high tension between the two countries. This agreement will also determine the next year’s congressional elections in that it will tip in the favor of the Democrats. They will gain the trust of the nation due to the success in the reaching an accord after all the years of trying to reach an agreement with Iran regarding their nuclear program.

In the article, As Fund-Raisers in Congress, Women Break the Cash Ceiling, it is depicted that women donors differ from the male donors in that they are more willing to contribute towards the cause of campaigns for their female counterpart. Statistically there has been an increase in women donation towards political campaigns since the early 90s, especially for the women democrats running for office. Instances include Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren who raised substantial amounts of funds during re-election into office.

The perception towards female leadership has changed drastically over the long time period. If I were a republican, the advice I would convey to women donors would be to believe in women leadership roles in the society and help their republican female counterparts running for office, by raising funds and donating towards their campaigns. They should emulate the democrats’ approaches towards funding the women campaigns. This in turn will see an increase in the number of republican women in office.
