Kipling’s view was accurate regarding the burden of European colonialism or imperialism on Europeans.  For the anti-imperialism individuals, it was a symbol of the Europeans’ differences in colonizing people and the racial classification of European of the world (Labouchère, 219). In the nineteenth century, Europeans suffered as a result of the African conquest. According to Kipling, he described age accurately, and it is coupled with several reasons as to why.  Through the age of imperialism, the advancement of technology evolved. It facilitated the expansion of overseas. Industrialization was also brought about due to the rapid advancement of transport and communication, specifically in telegraphs, navigation of steam, and railways. The advancement resulted in the growth of the economy of a country. However, medical advances were significant, particularly medications for tropical diseases (Labouchère, 219). The development of quinine, efficient malaria treatment allowed a huge expansion of the tropics made easily accessible by Europeans. The introduction of vaccines assisted in increasing the Europeans life expectancy.

During the age of imperialism, the European countries’ main objective was well-known by an unprecedented pursuit of overseas territorial acquisitions to expand their nation.  There are several impacts of European imperialism on Africa. The age of imperialism majorly reflected on the ongoing rivalries amongst the powerful powers, economic desire for newly markets, and available resources (Kipling, 40). However, Europeans tried their best to erase the significance of the African countries. Also, the European trade and colonization were regulated, thus coinciding with the sudden emergence of Germany as imperial supremacy. The European supremacy eliminated and overrode the most prevailing African self-governance and autonomy forms. Colonies were viewed as assets in balancing power, useful in exchanging in international bargaining and negotiations. According to White Man’s Burden, Africans were much better off under the age of imperialism, and therefore the Europeans bore all of the burdens that resulted from imperialism.
