Essay

Language plays a part in influencing how different people perceive the world. This is because the first language speakers are normally dependent on a set of cultures and norms that influence their understanding of the world. Different people from different places in the world have different views due to different cultural backgrounds. Hence, native English speakers view the world differently from native Arab speakers. This is because of the setting in which they have been raised in. In order to understand this it is important to understand that language influences how one views the world and how one understands and remembers different things. Guy Deutscher, people normally remember things more if they are in their own language. For instance, in this case, an Arabic speaking person is more in tune to remember certain things if he or she views them in Arabic language.

According to Danny Steinberg ?and Natalia Sciarini, English speakers have through their culture looked at the different manner in which they view language in they are more likely to remember English labels and products than they are to remember Arabic products. This is because the English labeled products are more in common to their culture than Arab labeled products. In addition, Keith Chen points out that different phonetics can influence the manner in which different people understand different statement depending on the manner in which they are put in. for instance native English speakers use different phonetics from other speakers. Tenses may influence how Arabic speaking people may understand a given statement.
