Training Employees, Research Paper Example

Pages: 1

Words: 287

Research Paper

Before patients are recruited to the study, there will be a rigorous training program to ensure that each employee working on the project speaks to the subjects in the same manner to minimize interviewer bias. Therefore, each study recruiter will be provided with a script that will be used when informing eligible patients about the study in addition to a FAQ reference sheet that will allow the recruiter to answer patients’ questions about the study. It will be expected that study recruiters memorize the information and recite it in a similar tone. Thus, group practice sessions will be required until each recruiter demonstrates the ability to cite the information in a uniform manner.

Employees will then be educated about the questions available on the survey and how to properly determine how to record the participants’ answers. Since the surveys will ask patients to rate symptoms and experiences related to asthma on a scale, employees will be familiarized with the scale and will be given sample interviewing sessions to ensure that each employee will uniformly mark similar experiences on the survey. In addition, each interviewer will be trained to ensure that all questions are asked in the same manner and order. Furthermore, they will inform the participant that they will not be able to answer questions about the survey during its implementation. Questions that will not impact the integrity of the study will be answered after survey completion.

BCHN will hire and train employees for $15 per hour. Employees will be compensated for participation in the training program, which is expected to take from 15-20 hours. An assessment will be provided to determine when the team is ready to work and all employees will be trained at the same time.
