Underserved Children, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 275

Essay

Children are the building blocks to any future society on the entire planet. How they are taught, brought up, and developed can ultimately shape the face of the world of tomorrow. Contemplate, then, upon underserved children that can be found all throughout the globe; how are these unfortunates going to end up and what is it that contributes to the outcome?

First look at social and environmental factors that can influence their health. Typically these children are going to come from impoverished, single- working homes where the parents are going to be off working jobs whenever they get a chance. This is going to lead children to ultimately fend for themselves and develop their own beliefs, values, and ways of life. This can lead to poor eating habits, lack of exercise, malnourishment, etc…

The Life Course Health Development Framework “organizes research from several fields into a conceptual approach explaining how individual and population health develops and how developmental trajectories are determined by interactions between biological and environmental factors during the lifetime” (“Health is a Human Right,” 2004). This system could be used to guide health promotion in vulnerable populations by assessing the present and potential risks and then taking pre- emptive measure to increase the mode of a better way of life.
