Change is an inevitable element especially when dealing with business development. It could be understood that when it comes to this concept of progress in business, it is important to make sure that the administrators know how to handle the needed changes and the developments expected to be taken into account. Considering the developments that the organizations need to take into account, it could be realized that change is something that cannot be avoided, instead, should be embraced fully by the administrators and the teams of workers functioning under them. For HP and Home Depot, the three most common and most applicable images of leadership that could be seen to have great application on the business are the concepts of directive leadership, navigation administration and coaching style of leadership.
The directive leadership imposes on the need of the administrators to be more authoritative among the members of the organization thus making a great impact on how they are to give attention to the different options of managing both the operations and the people working for the business. Practically, people working under this condition are most often than not more pressured, yet are motivated better to work further for the goals of the organization. With good control and balance on the part of the leaders, the creation of a more established system of leading and managing people makes a better option for people to become more effective and efficient in the way they handle their tasks accordingly (Legge, 2006). With good leaders taking the stand towards making sure that their people are working well under good conditions, it would not be so hard for the workers to embrace development and growth fully.
On the other hand, the navigation-concept of leadership creates a more workable process of making a distinct impact on how new innovations are to be accepted by the business as part of their growth. Helping the people indulge themselves into the situation of these changes is necessary enough to make sure that they are going to be prepared to express themselves and embrace the new concepts of development presented to them by their administrators (Stroh, et al, 2002). What makes the navigation-concept effective is that of its applicability especially in relation to the idea of making a distinct impact on what the organization is ready to take into account as it embraces the future and what else it aims to retain especially in relation to how the business is supposed to serve the needs of the community accordingly (Stroh, et al, 2002). Practically, the way the administrators navigate the open options for them to take shall depend on how much they are able to give attention to the new concepts and new developments that are being opened in the industry. The capacity to navigate from then towards the now and the future possibilities of the business in embracing growth empowers the organization to take on the challenge of expanding their operations further.
The final image which is depending on coaching leadership presents a great distinction on how leaders are able to share themselves to the people; to give a bit of who they are and what they are made of to make sure that they are able to empower their teams (Legge, 2006). Their desire to become more involved in the progressive situation of the organization gives them the initiative to take on the chance to develop a more progressive pattern of helping out the individuals reach their full potential thus aiding the whole organization towards general improvement.
Taking these images into full account, it should be realized that the newly stationed CEO’s of both Home Depot and Hewlett Packard take their own stand in determining the concept of development that they both want to engage in. Their desire to become the source of improvement and larger developments for the said businesses allow them to establish a greater stand when facing the different issues that are relatively connected to their role in the organization (Whitman, 2014). What makes these images practically applicable when dealing with the issues of both businesses and the capacity of their CEOs to take into account the option of growing along with the organization is the fact that these concepts of leadership are relatively connected to the personal growth of each leaders which mirrors both their capacities to become the source of competence that the organizations need to embrace a new face of modern development.
Breaking through the barriers and the criticisms of the members of the company and becoming more involved in the idea of expanding the current status of the organizations in the market; these ideals are the ones that are used to make sure that the business would grow according to plan. Practically, the new CEOs of HP and Home Depot have had their own different backgrounds that have something good and new to offer to the said organizations thus expanding their capacity to improve and create a more workable pattern of operation that indulges both in innovation, modernity and progress.
In dealing with a new sense of direction, the people of HP and Home Depot are bound to take note of how they are to face new options of growth under the guidance of new administrators. Through building proper rapport with the people. Both Whitman of HP and Menear of Home Depot are expected to take on the leap towards advancement that can be carried towards determining a new route of development for the organizations. The new market imposes new set of challenges to multinational companies like HD and HP; it is with the willingness of the new administrators to go beyond what they are expected to do that they are given a better chance of expanding operations and embracing larger options of progress that would best benefit the business, its people and the market it serves all at the same time. Developing new perspectives and creating new goals; these are the primary factors that serve as the foundation of HD and HP’s future status in the industry as it tackles the different sources of pressure in the market including competitions and pressures of facing new alternatives to the products and services that they are presenting for the public to appreciate.
