Understanding the Conditions of Writing Used by Jacob Bronowski, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 272

Essay

Discussing how the capacity of imagination of humans work towards the advancements that are happening at present, Jacob Bronowski tries to expand the condition by which the said aspect of human thinking is described through cause and effect pattern. In his article, Bronowski tries to create a condition by which the past experiments about human imagination have proven that somehow the desire to imagine improves the capacity by which the society advances towards a progressive state.

To note the assimilation of cause and effect in his writing, he insisted on the process by which experience actually indicates the manner by which the mind formulates a thought regarding the possibilities that can be considered. Undeniably, here, imagination is not described to be just a form of thinking that comes abruptly to the one thinking. Instead, it is a process that takes from the past to create a future vision that the individuals can depend upon especially in relation to how they want to perceive the outcome of current applications and practices that they engage with.

In this writing, Bronowski tries to make an indicative condition by which he notes the element of imagination versus instinct and what causes both to occur in the minds of living creation. While imagination is based on experience and knowledge, instinct is usually enforced through an indication of urge that the creature feels. Humans could use instinct as well, but when it comes to serious mental assumptions, it is the process of imagination that becomes more responsive and specifically useful for the common good o f the human society as a whole.
