Understanding the Different Forms of Thinking in Decision Making, Research Paper Example

Decision making is a crucial process taken into consideration by leaders of organizations especially in times when they need to face particular adversaries. When the making of a decision is concerned, several ways of dealing with the process often includes the proper approach of thinking. Herein, three particular manners of thinking shall be further discussed which includes creative, persuasive and logical thinking. Observe that these three particular measures of thinking are the most commonly used resources that leaders intend to adapt into hence making it easier for them to find better solutions to problems in a more efficient approach.

Creative thinking is defined as the process of changing the old into the new (Kirby, et al, 125). Utilizing resources or materials from the past and assessing their value for new use is the approach that is embraced by creative thinking. In organizations, leaders are expected to utilize past assessments and result from experiences hence creating a new aspect of growth for the company. This way of thinking allows the leaders to improve further from the “scraps” of the past and create new waves of developments for the organization which benefits the stakeholders. On the other hand, persuasive thinking is the process of inviting or convincing others to agree on one matter (Kirby, et al, 259) and be able to get good feedback that would further impose on the effectiveness of one particular decision. Meanwhile, the process of imposing the aspects of logical thinking involves the specific utilization of deductive and inductive reasoning (Kirby, et al, 156) in measuring what needs to be done based on opinions and messages sent through the reactions of the leader and of others.

Collaboratively using these three forms of thinking basically manifests the leader’s capability to impose on the most effective ways of providing assistance to the team members of the organization to grow. Believably, it could be assumed that the use of creative thinking insists on the capability of one to create new forms of progress while persuasive thinking insists on the capability of the leader to convince the team members or the organization to accept the changes effectively. In the process of assessing the results of these new forms of extensive development, logical thinking could be used to further improve the option of development that is hoped to be realized.
