Part 1
Introduction
The Uninsured and Underinsures Group and Population Demographics of the Group
In the previous essay the uninsured and underinsured group that was selected is uninsured and underinsured children population. The population demographic of the uninsured and underinsured children population that was used in previous essay is for children below the age of 7. This population demographic was chosen so that it can give all the required information concerning uninsured and underinsured population for period of the past five years. Most of the early childhood pandemic diseases occur to children below the age of 5. In addition the number of uninsured and underinsured children population has been on rise for the last six years (Herny, 2002).
Needs and Health Practices of the Uninsured and Underinsured
This uninsured and underinsured children population needs are particularly due to pandemic childhood disease. Pandemic childhood disease is one of the health practices needed by this uninsured and underinsured group. Hence increased number of uninsured and underinsured children population poses greater health risks to parents, the government and the organization. The uninsured and the underinsured children population mainly consists of children from poor families. These children are prone to pandemic diseases due to poor diet and unhygienic conditions they are exposed to. In most cases the uninsured and underinsured children population lacks the basic needs.
Outline the organization that will be affected by the uninsured or underinsured population.
Other than parents and the government the organization that will be affected by increased number the number of uninsured and underinsured children population is the organization against pandemics in early childhood (Francis, 2005). This organization will be affected by the increased number of this uninsured and underinsured population due to the huge expenses it will have to shoulder if it does not device a strategy of reducing the uninsured and underinsured children population. Pandemics are the leading causes of early childhood deaths.
Summarize the mission, structure, and current community position of the organization.
The organization mission is to ensure that it educates the community on the risked of uninsured and underinsured children population that has been increasing in the past years. To meet this mission, the organization has set a structure is aimed at developing community support services (Herny, 2002). The structure developed will mainly target the poor racial and ethic group within the population demographics. The community support services that will be developed will be meant to ensure that low income family can join this community support services and hence enjoy almost similar benefits as they would after insuring their children.
Historical impacts upon the development of the health organization over the last ten years.
Before the development of this health organization that is chiefly concerned in ensuring children below the age of 5 are able to access health care for pandemic conditions the number of children dying due to pandemics was high especially those who were uninsured since they could not access medical services. The development of this health organization has had positive impact in the region in the past 10 years. The organization has worked hard in educating the community on the risk of having uninsured and under insured children population especially due to childhood pandemics that often hit the area (Francis, 2005). In addition the health organization has also helped in solving the uninsured and underinsured children population by developing community support services to ensure parents who cannot afford insuring their children benefit from these services. Hence the development of the organization has reduced the negative effects associated with high number of uninsured and underinsured population.
Part 2
Potential financial impact that the proposed trends will have upon the following:
The trends that will be used by the organization in reducing the uninsured and underinsured population will be those of educating the community on the risks they put their children to by not insuring them or underinsuring them especially on pandemic diseases. The other trend will be development of community health supports services. In addition, the proposed trends will have financial impact after communicating with all stakeholders. These trends will have positive financial impact to the organization since they will help in cut down the amount used on uninsured population.
Development of Community Health Support Services
The trends toward ensuring uninsured and underinsured children population has reduced will have positive financial impact on the development of community support services. This trend will mainly encourage the families with low income to join (Smith, 2000). By joining the community support services, the organizations will start experiencing positive financial growth. In addition due to the increased number of people registering for these services will lead to increased profits since these people will be required to borrow the organization so as to assist them in settling health bills.
Communication With Key Stakeholders in the Community and Government
The use of community development services as the alternative for the parents with uninsured and underinsured children population will have positive financial impact to the stakeholders. The finances during the implementation of this trend will have positive impacts to key stake holders. Implementation of these trends will improve the communication between the community and the government. Hence it will be able to show how insuring children is a very effective way of cutting down expenses. Communication with key stakeholders will also have positive impact since it will show the affected community importance of insuring children.
Financial Impact of the Uninsured and Underinsured on This Organization Over the Last Three to Five Years
The pandemic control organization has had negative financial impact of uninsured and underinsured children population. With an increase of over 3.4% since last of this population, the organization has been hit by economic strain when curding any pandemics. Due to the increased number of uninsured and underinsured children population, the organization has incurred huge losses in trying to regulate pandemic diseases. Most of the uninsured and underinsured children are unable to pay for the health care services given to them by the organization.
Risk to the Organization as the Rates of Uninsured and Underinsured Continue Rising at 2-3% Over the Next Five Years
If uninsured and underinsured children population continues to rise by 2-3% over the next 5 years, this pandemic health care organization will be faced with are risks of becoming bankrupt. The main reason is increased uninsured and underinsured population will result to huge losses by the organization in view of the fact that most of its clients will be unable to pay for the health care services. In addition, the organization will be faced with a risk of being in debts since most of the materials used in rendering their services are acquired on loan hence unless they generate enough cash to repay the loan, the organization will have huge debts hence risk being bankrupt. However if the community health support services are developed and catch up well, the organization will be assured of secured finances (Charles, & Giammona, 2009). Hence instead of being impacted negative by the increased rates of uninsured children population it will act as a heaven for more families seeking an alternative for ensuring quality health care.
Proposing Two Key Initiatives to Build the Organizational Strength to Meet These Risks
To meet these risks the organization has to ensure the people are educated on the benefits of insuring their children. Most of the people in this community fail to insure their children as a way of cutting down expenses. If the organization shows the people how insuring its children helps them save a lot on health care services, most people will consider insuring their children and hence help the organization from becoming bankrupt.
Improving communication with all stakeholders is another strength that the organization should use to overcome these risks. It’s through improved communication with other stakeholders that the organization can be able to get solutions on how to overcome the problem of increasing uninsured and underinsured children population that are causing all the risks that the organization is facing.
Assessment of the Organization Ability to Respond to the Risks Effectively
For the organization to effectively respond to the risk it has to ensure it maintains good communication with other stakeholders. Good communication with the community will help it regulate the number of uninsured and underinsured children population (Charles & Giamonna, 2009). The biggest challenge that is facing the organization is due to increased uninsured and underinsured population which is causing it to be unable to meet its objective of ensuring it provides health care services for pandemic disease to the community.
Hence for the organization to overcome this risk and other secondary risks such as becoming in debts, it needs to change its management style. Changing the leadership style to open system will enable them reach all other stakeholder effectively through improved communication. It’s only through effective communication with other stakeholders that the organization will be able to effectively respond to these risks. In addition the organization should try its best in adopting the new changes such as use of community development services in offsetting its health care expenses rather than expecting all the people to be insured so as to be able to pay for their services.
Conclusion
Enhancing communication with all stake holders in addressing the uninsured and underinsured children population is the only solution that this organization can consider. To achieve this, the organization need to change their leadership style to open leadership style so as to give all organization’s members the zeal to work hard in achieving the organization’s main objective.
