Moral vs. non-moral

Moral is a word that can be associated with two meanings, the first one being the opposite on nonmoral as the most common applicable usage. In this regard, the term moral is considered as being closely linked to morality and therefore used to express a claim that is used in the expression of moral value in a sense of moral value judgment. The same term, moral can be used in reference to the opposite of immoral whereby; moral means good, proper, right and such other concepts. In this document however, moral has been used as the opposite of nonmoral.

Moral reasoning and moral principles

Moral reasoning involves different perspectives taken as a mixture and occurs within specific perspectives as well as frameworks. For example, it may occur within the framework of consequentialism that implies the possibility that the moral value is a significant determinant of a certain decision, policy or deed. Any action may be attributed to better consequences as compared to its alternatives and this can be considered as the better option from a oral point of view.

The implication of moral principle is a naturally general value judgment. In other words, what is right and proper should therefore be done is a good example of moral principle. In moral deliberation, an articulate consideration of the moral issues in the context of the perspectives under assumption is a crucial feature. Thinking about death penalty for example, the assumption is that, the society could have a better life if murders were sentenced to death. However, this does not take I to consideration the utilitarian perspective. The will of sacrificing a health and living individual is not given due consideration. This plays an important role in determining if the reasoning applied is really compelling.
