Pages: 1

Words: 310

Essay

The value of informatics in systems life cycle is attributed to its capabilities in the supply of excellent data that facilitates tracking down the system throughout the entire lifecycle (Austin & Boxerman, 2003). However, all data must be considered in context since informatics can sometimes indicate that, a specific line in the workstation has been plagued as a result of power supply that has been poorly manufactured. This can facilitate in influencing the vendor of the computer to replace the entire system of power supply or an entire system batch free of expense to the owner of the business. An efficient informatics has the potentials of indicating the specific system that is affected by the power supply, thus making it easy to deal specifically with a targeted system with regard to its replacement and amalgamate the plan of replacement without affecting the users. This saves time because the business does not necessarily wait until the entire system fails which is costly in terms of users’ downtime.

Informatics also indicate the machines that have been used for the longest duration thus facilitates for management plan of the lifecycle and thence derive cost benefits associated with bulk purchasing. This is also beneficial to the support since the business is facilitated in identification of particular models of the system which then eases the support of hardware and consequent troubleshooting. Informatics therefore enhances the ability of database systems lifecycle to give solutions more efficiently (Greiner & Knebel, 2003). The value of informatics in systems life cycle involves the potentialities of accommodating some properties that will enhance the efficiency and functionality of the database in the entire systems life cycle.
