 In todays society, video games are often viewed by the public as violent and malicious. Due to these traditional beliefs, people often think that video games promote bad behavior in children. In contrast to popular belief, not all video games are violent. The gaming industry offers a large number of educational games. These games range from teaching mathematical concepts to games that help strengthen individuals hand-eye coordination. Video games can have a number of positive benefits such as serving as an educational tool, helping enhance coordination skills, and promoting exercise.

 The primary benefit that video games offer is that they have the ability to serve as educational tools. By allowing chider to play educational video games, they realize that it is very well possible to lear all while having fun. or example, a race car game can teach children basic concepts such as the alphabet and counting. Phrases like Checkpoint A or Lap 1are often used in video games. To the children, however, the phrases simply indicate where in the game they might be. For instance, Lap 2 would help the child understand that he or she has done 2 laps in total. The sense of winning gives the children a sense of reward to keep playing and by doing so, he or she continues to learn every time he or she plays. Having this kind of fun encourages many students to continue playing the video games, therefore enhancing both their knowledge and coordination skills.

 Another positive benefit of children playing video games is that they help at improving individuals hand-eye coordination. Video games such as the Wii Sports Package have the potential to help kids improve their reaction time and agility. Aside from sports games, there are many other types of games that might help at increasing a kids dexterity, which is very beneficial in performing day to day activities. There are different kinds of exercises that can be performed to improve a childs coordination, but most of them are not as appealing or rewarding as video games. As opposed to the commonly held belief that video games give no real advantage to children, once individuals begin to see how beneficial and brilliant video games are, a whole new perspective will be placed on video games.

 Exercise is an essential ingredient to a healthy lifestyle. Due to this, video games that have been previously developed have been shown to have its primary aim on promoting exercise. The gaming industry has now become cognizant that a healthy combination of physical and mental activity is required in order to appeal to an adult audience. For example, games like Just Dance, Zumba Kids, and Nickelodeon Fit all pose significant physical challenges for children to improve their aesthetic appearance. Parents can use video games to help keep their children active during the winter. With todays video games being as interactive as they are it allows the user to burn more calories than if they were sitting watching TV. Due to these reasons, playing video games unquestionably promote exercise.

 There is no doubt that video games can have a great impact on a a childs lives. They provide good learning experiences for kids. In addition, video games allow children to acquire knowledge while having fun as well as enhance their hand-eye coordination. This allows them to improve their reaction time and agility. The fact that video games aim at encouraging exercise is an added benefit of playing video games. By being aware of all of these benefits, it would be advised for parents to make use of these tools which can help formulate their children into healthier and happier individuals.
