War Defined, Essay Example

Essay

War has been in existence since the beginning of time and has carried with it brutality, horror, famine, depression, and other effects that have shaped kingdoms, countries, and populations of the world. In the readings and in several aspects of our daily lives, we have lived in a continuous cycle of peace-crisis-war. The cycles of war have presently existed in separated processes that have required strategic and separate analysis. The continuous cycle usually leaves observers and participants of the wars as casualties that are a part of an unstoppable spiral that leads to more violence. Trying to define both peace and war has left many puzzled as the cycle does not give equal time of rest to afford a necessary definition of each.

The continuous and dynamic nature of social interactions in interstate relations has left many extant definitions of war. Wars can no longer be localized as they have transformed into social conflicts where borders of states, and countries are crossed dependent on finding resolutions of peace. In characterizing the dynamic of social interactions between the interstate relations, it is easy to see formal interactions are more determinant of the interstate relations than informal. Informal interactions are exchange of ideas, information, and goods between citizens across borders, and can be used as an influential matter in international relations. While formal interactions are seen between the political figures of the different governments. In times of war and peace the while the formal interactions are the ones broadcast, it is the informal interactions that have more influence in interstate relations. War is generally viewed as a prolonged and organized conflict, where sides either interstate or international are armed with weapons that lead to extreme violence, economic destruction, and social corruption. War is not something that is usually set under the rug, it destroys nations, governments, and infrastructures that can and has led many into destitute results from a broken economic system.

War can be seen as a situation in which generally war is a contention of interstate and international relations through the use of armed forces, for the intentions of overpowering the other, and imposing the inclinations of peace by the will of the victor. By this extant definition, it is used in the exact sense at which to clarify a serious strife and struggle between two parties. I agree that this definition is what serves best to define an undefinable event where no two sides really win. The peace-crisis-war cycle is continuous characterized by one side penning to revolutionize the other side, and the victor imposes its conditions for peace thus ending or beginning the crisis. In order to understand the dynamic, one must pick apart the definitions of what war genuinely stands for and the inclination of peace within the cycle. The addition of the social dynamic of international and interstate relations play vital roles within the continuous cycle that shape the definitions of war.
