Website URL _http://www.fitnessthroughfasting.com

Describe the intended Market:

The intended market for this website are individuals who wish to get healthier through a means of all-natural methods such as fasting and using substances found in nature to rid their bodies of built up toxins. The site is geared towards adults, definitely, and not children because of the content such as fasting (Johnston, How to lose 30 pounds (or more) in 30 days with juice fasting (How to lose weight fast, keep it off, & renew the mind, body, and spirit through fasting, smart eating, and practical spirituality), 2012), using enemas (Johnston, Lose 30 pounds (or more) in 30 days with intermittent fasting and at home coffee enemas (Detoxify your body, get healthy, and transform your life), 2012), and dieting with the goal of losing substantial amounts of weight in a short amount of time (Johnston, The intermittent fasting weight loss formula (How to lose weight fast, keep it off, and renew the mind, body & spirit through fasting, smart eating, & practical spirituality), 2012).

What is your first impression of the site?

The site is well constructed as far as graphics are concerned and well worded for an individual seeking alternative health information; however, there is a lack of reference material in regards as to whether any of the methods discussed will actually work or positively benefit individuals who try the procedures advocated by the website. The references used were found by searching the author’s blog and cross-referencing at that point to find what other books he has written on the same topics of alternative medicine so one can understand whether or not he seems credible as an expert in his field.

What products or services are offered? How can they be obtained? Is key information present of missing, such as ordering info, price, options, etc.

There is a fasting, detox, and weight loss membership group that can be joined by an individual on a monthly basis for a fee. This will allow the individual access to information and resources not allowed by the average person perusing the site. Also, there are forums geared towards individuals seeking other information from peers that are also interested in the same kind of subjects regarding detoxification (Johnston, The 10 day at home colon cleansing formula (Detoxify your body, get healthy, and transform your life), 2012), health, and such matters.

There are audio reports and .pdf reports on the subjects as well. Most of these are purchased with the membership or are downloaded by paying a fee. The site really has ‘everything’ an individual could want if he or she is searching for answers to obtaining a healthier body through alternative methods. The author’s blog seems to be updated on a regular basis and is also quite full of interesting information as well.

Is the site navigation well or poorly planned?

Navigation of the site is easily achieved, especially by those who might be new to the alternative health world. There are listings at the top of the page, on the sides of the page, and there is information basically surmising the site and its contents in the very middle. There are not ‘filler ads’ taking up space all over the site; however, only a few are present. The author did a very good job planning the site navigation in order for it to be accessible by every person wishing to find out more about the health that he or she could obtain through alternative resources if he or she is willing to commit to what the author indicates is necessary to achieve this level of wellbeing.

Comment on the following elements often thought of as part of the Web Architecture:

Use and Quality of Graphics

The graphics are used often enough to keep the site interesting without taking away from the wording of the site, which is the most important element of this particular website. The graphics are not too ‘blingy’, but are catchy and original. They are classy and modern at the same time without leading to overkill.

Page Layout

The layout of the page is such that any individual is able to access a plethora of information, literally, from the home page. After navigating from the home page, the individual may then choose to navigate to other pages as well and read more about the topic of choice and study more in depth to understand the basis of the meaning that topic represents. It is conducive to the subject matter without being too ‘busy’ that an individual has difficulty navigating through the site.

Unifying Theme

The theme of the site is unified throughout the entire site. Even when the Amazon store is selected, the books by the author are presented on the screen and an individual has a choice of purchasing them if he or she wishes. There is literally something for everyone who wants to be healthy and it all ties back to the one unifying theme of using alternative health to be fit and achieve the overall goal of optimal health and fitness.

Equipment Sensitivity

The sensitivity of the equipment used it such that it is pleasing for every person who is an adult. As noted before, this site most likely is not recommended for children because of the discussion of enemas and fasting for lengthy periods as well as exorbitant weight loss methods. Otherwise, there is something for everyone. And there is a place on the website to obtain whatever information or product needed by everyone if he or she is willing to buy.

Other Comments?

This is a nice website with a nice layout. The graphics are pleasing to the eye and the colors are comforting. There is nothing that demands your attention; rather, it pulls you in more quietly for the sale after you read the information presented. An excellent site if your need is for alternative health.
