Wellness programs are expected to be a source of general balance for individuals as they take on the different routines that they have to complete each day. Being able to face their responsibilities while still enjoying a satisfying life is what makes this approach to wellness more definite and constructive.
Target Participants: individuals working or studying eight hours a day/six days a week [or even longer]
participants are also going to be pre-assessed in consideration with the rate that determines whether or not they have the possibilities of developing substance abuse problems and/or emotional and mental issues and imbalances.
Target Goals:
- to provide support for stress relief that workers need at the end of the day that would be more beneficial than tiring for the individuals being targeted to be benefit from the program
- to expand options of relaxation and relief provided for individuals experiencing pressure and massive stress at work or at school
Expected Benefits:
- improved vision of self
- developed understanding of how one could relieve stress even when at work
- a more balanced vision of one’s being and personal development based on mental, physical and emotional health improvement
Basic Platform of the Program:
The program would be a week-long engagement of 45 minutes each day. The setup would be characterized by an every-other-day pattern that would be based on how the participants would be assisted on how they would undergo the stress-relief-therapy on their own later on even after the program’s stretch of completion.
Description of Wellness Program:
The wellness program shall be characterized of two separately defined activities. One is focused on physical wellness and another is on mental and emotional health improvement. As this program hopes to engage in a more holistic approach of improving the overall health status of the participants, the activities would be directed towards what the target individuals need. The program is to be set in the park where the participants would be able to get fresh air [which is a different venue compared to their secluded work areas or classrooms wherein they have been subjected in the whole day]. This setting is chosen bot only because outdoor activities are more exciting, nature has always been noted to be among the best sources of natural rejuvenation that the body and the mind needs.
The first definition of activities which is the physical nature of the program would be completed between Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These days were chosen as they start and end the week accordingly hence making it easier for the participants to set their mood into working for the whole week and ending it with full expectations on the weekend. Physical activities are noted to increase adrenaline rush and improves dopamine balance that is needed in fuelling the desire of a person to function fully at work or at school.
The second division of activities would be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday which are more concentrated on increasing concentration and emotional balance through mild exercises that are bound to create a more workable pattern of relaxation for the participants as they take on a break from all the fast paced time-constraint activities they are expected to engage with at work.
These facets of the program are expected to be the source of competent change in the lifestyle of the participants. Showing them how they can balance both rigid and calming activities in order to balance out the stress that they get from either work or school could allow them to become more productive in what they engage in within each day of routine chores and responsibilities. These practices shall reduce the risks of developing fatigue among the participants; allowing them to embrace each day with satisfaction and enjoyment amidst the possible hardships it presents.
This program adheres to the service concept of the process of assisting people to understand the importance of wellness in their daily life-routines. It also complies with the realization of the wellness model that is supposed to be used by the participants as the basis of the wellness practices they are to engage with in a continuous manner [as desired].
