As modern youths who frequently interact with the adults in work, they encounter many well-meaning people who want to show support to the youth but are unsure how to share power, listen and understand them by learning from the youth collaborators. The paper will guide on the things that the youth wish the adults to know.
The youths’ modern generation differs significantly from their parents: the youth are more prepared, diversified, and have a different set of values. In the current days, the youth are delaying key aspects such as leaving their parental homes, cohabiting, siring children and exhibit diversity in their choice of households (Liechty Pp 510-524). The forces behind these changes can be connected to cultural transformations and the dynamic economic environment.
Modern Adults: A Different Generation
The greater part of today’s population is composed of young people between the ages of 20-35 years old, which is an age that represents the beginning face of adulthood. In this stage, the youth take the first decisions of their adult life, such as furthering their education, leaving home, starting a family, beginning parenthood. This a stage that significantly determines the professional growth of the youth. The decisions taken at this age greatly influence the future of society (Johansson 2017).
There are numerous elements making youngsters postpone leaving their parental homes. Our social orders’ expanded secularization and independence can prompt an unwinding of the normal practices identifying with when and what request key achievements as marriage or parenthood happen. Yet, these are likewise affected by economic factors. The outcome is that normal young people marry at around seven years after the fact than they did in 1990 (at 35 years old for men and 33 years old for ladies). In certain states, men wed at 32 years old by and large and ladies at 30.4 years, around six years after the fact than in 1990. Indeed, this is a pattern that can be seen in most
What Is the Logic Behind the New Face of Young Adults?
It becomes a point where most young people are postponing the issue of leaving their matrimonial homes and start living on their own as a way to get independence. The case prevented by this issue has led to adults who are 35+ to look for a way to find how permanent or temporary this changes will be. Two main causes of such a behavior in young adults can be attributed to the following reasons: Cultural transformations and the economic environment (Liechty pp. 209-231). Other assessment done by different scholar’s shows that there is a good shift relating to secularization and developments in the labor market has led to major contributions to changes where the young people lead to the formations of many households among young adults.
Culturally, different trends as increase of secularization of society have led experts to speculate the idea that in advanced economies there is a change in population change among the behavior of young people. According to the hypothesis, the individual’s preference have changed towards the importance of the young people’s self-realization and individual chemistry. Therefore the different societies will prove less concerned to take decisions that will show some long term commitment (Dushkina et, al. Pp 72-83). Using simpler terms of explanations means that the population and behavioral change was characterized by the economic environment, because the current young adults today are a reflection of the generation which was marked by the economic recession which was evident in 2008. It is very likely that the experience of financial crisis will lead to a reduced financial risk problem affinity which is a huge problem among the young people. The adults are likely to continue seeing huge diversities in terms of financial and behavioral patterns. Among the main patterns of change that are observable here are: leaving home and parenthood, which will largely contribute to a difference in the percentage of marriages.
