Words: 344

Essay

Managing diversity refers to the art of creating an environment whereby the employees are required to contribute to organizational goals. They are also required to gain experience, and go forward in their growth as individuals. This experience includes one getting to access all of the jobs they would like and have fair and positive treatment to all of the employees. The company should be in a position to be comfortable in their working environment. These people should be comfortable working with people in a wide variety of backgrounds that include issues ranging from ethnicity to racial and religious backgrounds.

This concept includes the mode of the employees when it comes to the working environment. This goes to include the competitiveness, innovation, amount of risk, as well as, the orientation of the results themselves. The training program that I am developing is aimed at creating the best possible working environment for employees. This training program is designed to help the trainees become quite comfortable with diversity in the workplace. In this way, they will become flexible to the various situations that can come their way. Even if they were to move to another employment situation, they would still have their flexibility as a fall back (Kanter, 1988).

This breed of employees will be able to contribute into the customers and the ongoing product markets. Employee groups that focus on diversity have shown a record of accomplishment of showing better understanding of the customers’ needs and wants (Gordon, 2005). Therefore, the content of the program will bear heavy emphasis on diversity. Capitalizing on this sector will play the bigger role in as much as the success of the project. This will go a mile and lead to other smaller advantages such as good communication skills, problem solving styles and functional techniques on the job.
