What Will Happen if Yulia Tymoshenko Becomes President? Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 511

Essay

Although she started as a highly controversial businesswoman, Yulia Tymoshenko still survived to be the first woman prime minister of Ukraine. This happened when the all-Ukrainian Union known as the “fatherland” won the second most votes during the parliamentary election; she as the president of this particular party. However, in 2009, she allegedly took her position into a swirling case of power-abuse causing her political career to fail. However, with the current division that the Ukrainian nation is facing, it is seen that the party of Tymoshenko, being all for the country, is likely to become a strong party in the face of determining how the nation’s fate is supposed to turn out in the future.

With all the historical failures of Tymoshenko regarding the way she handled her position in the field of politics, many people still trust her leadership. She usually comes out as a strong individual who has come to know the twists and turns of the operative systems in the country and there are those who are impressed with such a stand. She once ran for the Ukrainian presidency and among her agenda’s is the integration of the nation within the European Union. At the same time, she denies of the possibility of the country being a part of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The main reason behind this is that she believes that being in alliance with the European Union would allow her and her countrymen with the chance to redefine their approach to economic development. She uses such reason for specifically depending on the capacity of the European Union to give them the support they need to prosper in the field of international business operations. Tymoshenko specifically knows of this fact because she has been a businesswoman before she was a politician. She knew how it was to work with the European Union-lead countries apart from those that are in alliance with Russia and its neighboring countries.

Tymoshenko believes that economy is everything. Hence, defining the possibilities through the principles of the butterfly effect, it could be understood how she might specifically draft the nation’s overall political direction towards establishing a stronger economy. This would impact the overall function of both large and small scale businesses in the country. Empowering the primary players in the country’s economy, Tymoshenko’s presidency might actually affect the overall culture and perception of the people towards establishing a system that would help them and their countrymen gain the highest rate of profit possible.

Notably though, there are those who believe that not everything is dictated through economic stability, even that of national development. There are those who trust the need to have a strong military backing as a sense of protection. Nevertheless, such belief could be determined by Tymoshenko as somewhat weak when it comes to finding protection on the hands of those who cannot only protect them politically but could also strengthen them economically especially in terms of earning the most from what they do in relation to the businesses they and their people have established through the years.
