Workflow is the process by which an organization identifies and evaluates how well existing processes are achieving the organizational goals. Also, workflow analysis suggests ways of streamlining or optimizing processes. The following are the steps in a work flow analysis.

Analysis and evaluation of the present state. This is a process which includes classifying documents and processes that can be changed to electronic. These require participation of both managements and employees to have clear suggestions and to a stronger buy-in to the new ways of operating; this addresses current documents workflow, detection of constrains and openings among others.

Definition of upcoming state conditions and workflow policies. Comprehensive design conditions and policies are vital in any flourishing business computerization project. The documents from step one above will present the information required for ways of streamlining the process and determining the recovery needs. This addresses questions such as; which documents make critical business function? How well are those conditions being met?

Summary of payback and operational reserves. This is the step which addresses the following payback and efficiencies; general competence, physical space operation, employee time, compliance, and employee job contentment.

Implementation road map. New process must be associated with the business requirements to be able to determine the effectiveness. The following restrictions must be measured; timing each pace of a procedure and time needed to complete the whole procedure. Proper execution of new business procedures raise the capacity to cross train employees by automated, manual steps and let them focus on responsibilities that are significance.

I can use the above steps to automate my business this is to identify the costs associated with the process and problems such as redundancies within the system. Also, it will allow the organization to streamline processes and realize the associated savings.
