Essay

Working for a Chinese Co-operation has it challenges and the recent trouble in terms of communicating with employees. The English knowledge they have is very basic and thus, they do not know how to communicate with employees. In a recent scenario, they were trying to pass information to employees of the organization, and because they speak broken English, the understanding and information comprehension varied. This brought about different results and outcome. As such, what was intended by the employer was not delivered because of the language barrier, which hampered effective communication in the organization.

In my organization, the strategy to be applied is the option of feedback to be able to access whether the relayed message is understood. Furthermore, this strategy minimizes the chance of employees doing the wrong thing. It is also essential for the organization to learn the other person’s language to be able to avoid miscommunication. The other strategy is to develop exercises that promote team-building, which strengthens intra-office communication. It is evident that teams with high performance are more cohesive since, over time, they gain experience communicating and working with each other. It is said that, “experience is the best teacher.” Therefore, by allowing team members to communicate with each other, gives them a chance to learn from each other and improve their channels of communication.

The CEO of our Company came in one morning and was in a bad mood dismissing anyone who went into his office. All employees were confused over his behavior and investigated on what was going on with the boss because it was not his nature. The reason for his bad mood was that he was undergoing stress at home and was unaware that he had brought his baggage to the office. All employees decided to try and cope with his bad mood and opted to work in order to reduce the chances of increasing his stress levels. As such, we all worked as a team and ensured that communication was efficient and effective. In the future, it is important to hold meetings at the start of working days to be able to put all employees’ emotions at ease and reduce their chances of increasing levels of stress during business hours.
