The main difference between Buddha worship and personal worship of God is that the Buddhists refute the idea of a supreme God. Buddhists reject the idea of existence of a creator, do not hold on any views of existence of creation and holds that concerns about the origin of the earth are worthless. Buddhists believe that the main and the only reason for spirituality is absolute alleviation of stress. Buddhists do not offer any form of prayers or worship, or praise to a supreme God. They do not believe in the final judgment or heavenly hope. The personal worshippers of God, on the other hand, believe in the existence of a supreme being, who is the creator of heaven and earth. They believe in the final judgment after the end of the world and heavenly hope for those who live according to the teachings of the creator.
Honoring Buddha Wisdom means embracing the ideals and concepts of Buddhism in the daily lives of people. This wisdom helps one to understand the conventional world and understand the actions that result to happiness and those that result to suffering. It also helps people view the world differently, as opposed to the way we perceive it ordinarily. People can honor the Buddha wisdom by identifying the things that bring happiness and those that bring suffering. True happiness is achieved through love, compassion, eliminating ignorance, greed and not being selfish.
The worship of a deity is the most common form of worship. Many people believe that there is a supreme being, the creator of heaven and earth. Concepts and ideals in worship only gives direction as to how should live the lives now and in the future. It fails to concentrate on the past and the origin of the earth. As a firm believer of the creator of heaven and earth, worshipping concepts and ideals do not have any framework in my life. However, people pick some ideas for the non-deity worshippers to improve their lives.
The first noble truth states that living means to suffer since the world and the human beings are imperfect. During a lifetime, most people go through a lot of suffering and are not able to keep the happy moments for a long time. This does not give the impression that life is miserable; it is just viewing the world as it is, since there are a lot of sufferings in the world. These include frustrations, fear, depression, and sadness.
Buddhists hold that one’s actions create pain and determine whether one continues to be in pain or not. By renouncing the actions that bring pain, human beings are able to live happily. Buddhist religion, therefore, helps people understand how to deal with the daily pain. Accordingly, there is nothing positive about suffering in the world since it only brings immense pain to people. However, by learning to eliminate pain, people become more selfless and care more about other people in the world. Greed and ignorance are eliminated and this makes the world a better place for living for every person.
The fundamental teaching if Buddhism is suffering. It continues to study about suffering of oneself and other people. They study the roots of suffering and how to eliminate it. In fact, Buddhist holds that the main reason for religious practices is to alleviate people from suffering.
