Young Adulthood Intimacy Versus Isolation, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 299

Essay

This YouTube video during the first half, depicts a young couple in their early twenties enjoying the company of each other. My reason for choosing this video and stage of development is mainly the scenery. The couple appears to be truly in love. Subsequently, the background music created an intimacy equilibrium. There is a moving ship on water, breeze throwing over garments in the wind, a pinch of darkness mingles with crimson shades of light and the couple embrace in this atmosphere (Chesney, 2009).

The male partner relates to his female lover as he forces her to close out the world she now facesandfocus on him in the now. For me this action, psychologically, initiates the intimacy conditions. Precisely, this producer moves into relating to the audience that intimacy is a ‘close, familiar usually, affectionate loving personal relationship with another person’ (Young Adulthood, 2014). When related to this crisis, the concept that impacted me during this section of as it relates to my choosingthis video to review, lies in the realization that intimacy is a relationship. Further, the producer emphasizes that this scenery with the female standing on the deck of a boat by herself later, was an example of the transition from intimacy into isolation. The ship used in this video was highlighted as the titanic(Young adulthood, 2014).

Ultimately, the second portion of the video showed instances of isolation whereby a man was living alone. While still in adulthood he experienced loneliness to the extent of attempting suicide. The scenes following were vivid and dramatic episodes of severe isolation leading to depressive states (Stevens, 1983).
