Decision making is a critical part of the corporate environment. Decision making entails selecting the best alternative from various competing alternatives. This may be done quickly or slowly depending on the urgency of the action that needs to be taken. Decisions are made concerning managerial strategies marketing strategies among other. Zebra Runs Shoe Company is on the verge of making a major decision that will influence its profitability through the sale of its surplus production

Decision Making Techniques That Can Be Used

In making this critical decision the company should consider the various decision making techniques that can be employed to arrive at the best out outcome for the company’s performance. The techniques will include: use of T-charts, PMI, Buridens ass, measured criteria, and decision making matrix (decision Making table). The different decision making techniques are suitable for various decisions making processes. T-chart involve use of a chart with graphical; illustration of stages involved in decision making process as well as negative and positive attributes of each decision . PMI is an improvement on T-charts in tom there parts table. This method allows keen examination of objects without biased comparisons. This method is best used when there are more than two alternatives to the decision while with the measured criteria entails listing of point that the decision should meat and comparing them. Lastly decision matrix which is more complicate than the measured treat (Harris, 1998).

Measures to Ensure Proper Decisions Are Made

Zebra Runs can further take several measures to ensure that the company makes a proper decision. This involves take each step in the decision-making process critical. For instance Zebra Runs Shoe Company intends to increase its number of outlets factor that poses a dilemma to the management whether top go ahead and increase the out lets or not. The company should review all the information available from the marketing and production departments and compeer the information to find out whether the company is meeting the market demand, the other distribution channels available as well as production options. In other words the company should develop several alternatives. The executives serving the company should then met and decide upon the best among all the alternatives available. Once the best course of action is decided upon, the company should decide on how to implement the decision before enacting it. Evaluation should afterwards be done regularly to examine the progress and necessary measures taken to corrected any unwanted outcomes (Rodrigues, 2001).  The decision making panel or board should be comprised of a team that has the ability to critically analyze evidence and arguments then construct rational foundations for generally accepted believes.

Benefit of Plans and Goals to ZebraRun Shoe Company

Zebra Runs Shoe Company could benefit greatly by formulating plans and establishing goals. Goals stand for what the company intends to achieve (Brown, 1999). Therefore, Zebra Runs can decide on what its decision aims at achieving or benchmarks. The benchmarks form the company’s goal. A plan on the other hand is a road map the will lead the company to its desired destinations. A plan stipulates procedures from the initial step to the last one stating what resources shall be used, ho they shall be used, when and where they shall be used and how they will be acquired.

Conclusion

Zebra Runs just like all other companies should be uphold the importance of decision making process in the running of business activities. The decision should always be made with the company’s goals and values in mind and at heart. Best decisions are made when suitable decisions making techniques are put into practice. The decision making process’ outcome should further be enacted in order to realize the fruitfulness of the process. This calls for the use of proper plans to guide those implementing the decision on how to go around in achieving the company’s goals
