Aboriginal Issues in Canada, Annotated Bibliography Example

Frances (2002) put forward the view that most of the multicultural policies put forward by the Federal Government over the last thirty years have created a deep ambivalence amongst Canadians.  In particular they are portrayed as a negative response to immigrants and minority groups in Canada.  Much of this attributable to the lack of understanding and definition of the term multiculturalism. The text describes the changing environmental cultural policies in Canada and in particular the rights to Citizenship.  This provides a historical perspective and shows the newness of many events and developments in Canada that are post the Second World War in 1945. We are still a young nation and determining the right policies and approaches to cultural integration and recognition of aboriginal (First Nation) rights.
