We feel this deeply, not only because you are so evidently distressed, but because our business genuinely seeks to exceed the expectations of every client, and particularly in cases of bereavement. To that end, we would like to remit half of the service charge, which amounts to $156.50. In addition, and given your distress, we would be pleased to offer you a discount of 20 percent on any orders you place with us in the next year.

Please be assured, Ms Hayes, that we have reviewed the circumstances of your order very carefully, and there appears to have been some confusion regarding the exact date of the delivery. You will find enclosed a copy of the order you placed with us, confirmed by yourself before submission. We regret that, as our service did fulfill the order created by you and expenses were incurred, we cannot compensate for the full amount. Nonetheless, no matter how the error happened, it is important to us to address your concerns, and this prompts the refund and discount offered.
