We all hold opinions about various issues and events in our environment, but how are those opinions different from theories?

Opinions are personal beliefs about a topic while theories are observations that have been made over a period of time. As a consequence, opinions are biased while theories are grounded in fact. Furthermore, opinions typically stem from an individual’s experiences while theories can stem from the experiences of many. Theories can said to reliably reflect the world around us, but opinions are not as truthful.

Overall, it could be said that opinions are used to direct the formation of theories. An individual that wants to prove his or her opinion can design an experiment to verify this thought. Over time, those who agree with these beliefs can continue this exploration. If the opinion is supported, it will become a theory.

When Chemical Messengers release into your bloodstream that influence your mood, cognition, appetite, and many other processes what behaviors have noticed yourself exhibiting?

Chemical messengers have the ability to influence various aspects of the human experience. For example, when neurotransmitters are released to indicate hunger, the individual is more likely to become angry or easily upset. When serotonin is released, people are often more happy; this occurs when individuals take part in their interests or have conversations with friends. Chemical messengers that control thought allow neuronal connections to be possible, making thoughts happen more quickly.

It can be said that chemical messengers are responsible for dictating all behaviors. These chemicals define how we think and react. Different doses of these chemicals can impact behaviors in a different way. Sometimes when people have different amounts of these chemicals, their base behaviors could be different.

Gestalt deals with forming and maintaining perceptions. We must acquire meaningful perceptions in an otherwise chaotic world. Gestalts are individual perceptions that come together to form a whole. Ultimately, this contributes to the generation of reality.

The understanding of Gestalt’s theory is somewhat related to the work conducted by Piaget. In this theory, he says that children learn by building upon their memories. The consolidation theory states that memories are built upon over time. The consolidation theory explains how I have learned information as a young child; by building upon previous experiences.

During the day, the brain builds up a chemical called melanin. At night, this chemical is degraded because of sleep. Therefore, sleep has a physiological purpose. While sleep isn’t well understood, it is clear that sleep is important for health.

Advertising plays a part in my life because it persuades me to want things. Fears prevent me from being able to encounter some experiences. Fetishes and romances work as driving forces towards desire. These alter my mind because they show me what I may want or not want and this also impacts my relationships with others.

Marketing professionals are able to take advantage of psychology to persuade people to purchase things. They use psychology to understand wants and how to appeal to these wants. It can also be used to develop a want. When marketing professionals are able to do this well, their company profits, so a lot of thought it put into this process.

What did Hermann Ebbinghaus contribute to society in regards to his theory on memory?

Ebbinghaus conducted research on the spacing effect, which indicated that people remember things better when they study a little bit over time. In addition, he discovered the serial position effect by understanding that the order that things are memorized in influence their memory. The forgetting curve demonstrates how information is forgotten. This shows us that we can incorporate these techniques to improve our memories.

Many teachers recommend the use of these principles as studying techniques because they increase the efficiency with which information is remembered. This also helps enhance the duration of the memory. It is therefore important for these techniques to be taught to students early. The infant and adolescent stages are the most important because these experiences predispose the child for future developmental processes. It is therefore important for the child to form meaningful bonds with parents to ensure that their development matures properly. This bond is also important during adolescence.

Fear play is important because it makes people realize the negative consequences of things. It encourages people to avoid fear. However, too great of a fear incapacitates people against success. An acceptance of some fear, however, encourages growth.

Overall, feat prevents people from encountering some opportunities. This is harmful to their development. It is important for people to embrace fear to prevent this problem. Fear can either result in growth or a lack of growth.

In today’s society how can one’s sexual orientation define them/or can it?

Sexual orientation doesn’t have to define people. However, many people allow it to define them. Society provides labels that influence how these people feel. In some cases however, people don’t let this impact them.

To some people, sexual orientation is important because it helps them find a place. These people feel more comfortable with other people of the same sexual orientation. In some senses, this is damaging because it can make people feel like outcasts. However, in other cases it creates a sense of belonging.

Explain Freud’s view of psychoanalysis and unconscious in your own words and if you agree or disagree.

Freud states that the unconscious mind can influence conscious behavior. Therefore, dreams are indicative of our feelings and can help us understand our emotions better. To some extent, this appears to be true. We tend to repress feelings that manifested during childhood and coming to understand these feelings through lingering emotions can help us achieve receive recovery.

Psychoanalysis is still used for therapy today. However, its ideas have changed slightly. The underlying principle is the same, but the focus is on changing behavior. Psychoanalysis doesn’t work for all people, but it has allowed some to benefit.

After making your list of stressors how does burnout apply to you and your list of stressors?

Burnout applies to me because I need to study a lot and complete a lot of assignments. I think this could be better controlled if I were to budget my time more accurately. In addition, it is also possible for me to reduce my own stress by thinking less about negative incomes. We are ultimately in control of our own burnout.

Overall, it is important to meditate or exercise to reduce stress. During stressful times, it is important to think about the stress and devalue its importance. Stress is a regular occurrence and it is important to learn how to fight it. People that are able to do this are usually healthier people.

If your family member was diagnosed with a mental disorder what steps would you take to ensure they get the care they need?

First, I would ensure that they were taking any medications they would be prescribed. I would watch to make sure this is happening. In addition, I would personally take them to the doctor to make sure that they are being checked on regularly. Last, I would make them understand that I will always support them and be available to talk.

A support system is the most important part of this process. However, it is important for the people in the support system to be aware that this will be challenging to work through. People with mental disorders are more likely to recover or stay positive if loved ones are in their lives. Therefore, it is important for them to have others to help them through these hard times.
