Affordable Care Act (ACA), Case Study Example

Pages: 1

Words: 303

Case Study

Introduction

The question selected for this particular position argument is that focusing on the Affordable Care Act (ACA), AKA Obama care and its respective impact on female employees working under a Catholic Church. Having a Catholic Church as an employer obviously clashes with their teachings condemning contraception use as a sinful act.

Thesis: In this paper I will argue and support the desire for Catholic Church not to provide medical coverage supporting contraception use for the female workers.

Premise: This is allowable because the Roman Catholic Church has been divergent towards contraception usage among female individuals since at least the second century.

Reasoning supporting this notion

The Catholic Church has always alleged that artificial contraception is immoral and sinful. The only time it is considered morally permissible is in the event a responsible married couple intending to practice natural family planning. The big deal about the female Catholic Church employees using birth controls is that would go against the Church’s set doctrines that have been effect for centuries. This is main reason as to why the Obama administration would fail at seeing the medical coverage through for Catholic affiliated employees. It is worth noting that preserving this teaching is not based on choice, but salvation. The Roman Catholic Church policies cannot and will not change their minds on defending this principle.

Conclusion

The Catechism of the Catholic Church offers all the reactions towards this topic by providing both full and detailed explanations that help one better understand this issue. The supporting materials that tend to indicate and substantiate this standing of Catholicism identify can be witnessed and observed on numerous public media showing their opposition to unnatural forms or use of birth regulation. Therefore, the Catholic Churches’ idea of not allowing the use of contraceptives and not authorizing its medical coverage would not be a surprising argument.
