Essay

Strategic management hinges on three basic questions of “What are the business objectives? What are the key ways to achieve those objectives? What are the required resources to achieve the set objectives?”  These objectives are accomplishes through a vision plan. Every company should devise a proper vision plan in order to effectuate a strategic management plan.

The vision plan is to cut airplane emissions of CO2 levels in 2005 to half by the year 2050. The ways these objectives will be allegedly achieved are by first presenting a plan to the UN climate summit in New York. The new plan will be discussed in Denmark this December. London plans to show its patronage for the plan by cutting the program for a third runway at powerhouse airport Heathrow and option for another form of transportation such as a railway. “Formal proposals to accomplish the goal are to reduce CO2 emissions of 2005 by half by year 2005, improve fuel efficiency by 1.5 % over the next decade, submit formal plans for joining a carbon trading scheme by 2010.” (“Airlines Plan ‘to cut emissions’”).

Resources needed to accomplish this task are cooperation of 189 countries. Present support from Europe, China, India and Brazil will be needed in order to promote this plan to the other remaining countries. Collective data resourcing will be essential to promote this study. Kyoto protocol research and marketing is another essential key to promoting this scheme internationally.

The significance of this proposed change is that the project will head off criticism from environmental groups and make Earth a cleaner planet to live on. Further the reduction of emissions will clean our air and reduce the impact on the ozone layer.
