An Excuse Letter, Creative Essay Example

I’m writing this letter to give an excuse why my son was absent from university from 7^th of February to this date.  It is with great sadness that I report to you the loss of two family members at ago, his cousin and grandfather. His grandfather was a high ranking person in the United Arab Emirates. As a consequence, all arrangements for memorial services as well as the funeral took much more time than usual. Having left the United States on the 7^th February, we had to stay in United Arab Emirates for the entire period of funeral preparation and subsequent burial and returned to the United States on 22^ndof March. My son was also shocked by the loss of two family members at once and I perceived that he could hardly concentrate on academic work. I therefore suggested that he stay home for some time so that he gets sufficient time to recover from the shock.
