The evaluation of A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel Garcia provides different informative features concerning the story. Garcia’s birthplace was Colombia, and he gained acclamation through his literary works. His creativeness in writing was influenced by other writers. This research study seeks to summarize Garcia’s short story.

The story narrates the reaction of a couple when it discovers an advanced age man with wings. Amidst growing anxiety, the couples resorts to examining the creature. The creature makes efforts to respond to the questions asked by the couple. The family believes that the creature was thrown off the ship. The appearance of the creature attracts interests from the villagers. The villagers develop their speculation on the origin of the creature. The couple resorts to taming the creature and charges for the creature’s viewership (Garci?a, 34).

One of the local religious leaders develops concern with regard to the nature of the creature. According to the spiritual leader, the creature might be an angel but he drops this perception when the creature cannot communicate in his native Latino language. However, the news regarding the creature spreads and individuals from neighboring villages travel to the couple’s homestead.  The village’s religious leader writes to Pope inquiring the stance of the church regarding the newly discovered creature. Meanwhile, the creature performs weird miracles to individuals that seek its help (Garci?a, 37).

The crowd starts shying away from the creature owing to the mysterious creature act. However, the couple gains massive wealth from the fee charged on the creature’s viewership. Towards the end of the story, the creature gains ample flying strength. It eventually flies away (Garci?a, 45) .

The author uses the story to relate the couple’s characters with that of the creature. The couple together with the creature acts weirdly. They are both selfish. In the end, the villagers lost from all ordeal.
