Which helps best develop a culture of integrity in an organization, the application of theory or the development of wisdom? Why?
Introduction
A development of wisdom may help best in developing a culture of integrity within an organization. The community of citizens is sensitive to the thought of a positive status representing a culture of integrity in an organization. As there are citizens in the community full of businesses ready to make a friction off each other and to make tradeoffs in exchange for product or service in acollaborative manner,or even to make ahomogeneous competitive rival. In such an activity that one must take an attitude that is ethical to act such a role that also deems to represent trustworthiness (Bowie). A business culture must provide an illustration of leadership including a virtue of business ethics to develop the sense of morality and relativity and integrity as a goal to build stakeholders, customers and community members’ trust in the organization as a whole business entity(Ghoshal).
Aristotle approach
In turn, the whole enterprise of the theory of Aristotle approach in developing the wisdom in which Aristotle attempts to suggest for the business people to take up the attitude of the culture of collectivism rather than the culture of individualism for the benefit of the group of like-mindedness; and, for the business people to take up the attitude of sovereignty rather than the attitude of figurehead. The thought of a positive status represent a culture of integrity in an organization. In other words, the vision of people in the administration to have the same objectives in mind. But, in the real business world, it means the opposite; that is, when there are people in the administration do not always agree on the terms of the provision of the operationalactivities such as the policies, regulations, accounting, finance, products, services, and external products and services, etc. The point is that the organization’s aim toward excellence which is the ingredient of virtue ethics. This virtue ethics of excellence is a development of wisdom. As it constitutes the applicability of morality without slogans or slangs to abuse the integrity of business negotiation. Though, it is a virtue in business as “the bottom line” ethical manner to act in the negotiation. Because, by using the negotiation skill in business would help the administration to see the problem and its alternatives into different venues to which they are also important virtue to have when it comes to ethical decision making.
Kant approach
In addition to the Kant’s approach to excellence is the willingness to be rational and dignified in business negotiations (Donaldson). Because, this ethic principal is the key to trustworthiness, the term, “maxim” is defining the similar concept of universal human right, “do not harm” to one’s intelligence, property, or the reputation of the organization (Chadwick). This business ethic action would show that there is a standard action for everyone involved in dealing with management issues. Moreover, for some, this business ethic action is seen as a function of the Kantian morality. For example: by the organization’s willingness to take action on the behalf of employees’ unethical actions and they are taken into accountability for their unethical actions for releasing disclosed information to third parties on the operational processes and the source of resources. Then, this type of situation is a homogeneous and is a competitive rival that is stealing information from the company own’ employees. It has been agreed upon the world that this is the universal unethical action is made for justified decision in despite of the legal aspects of the international, state, local, providence laws. There is no set of virtue ethics that should not be applied in every aspect of business negotiation.
