The process of gathering, organizing and interpreting information about children from several forms of evidence is called assessment. It involves the process of evaluating what children in a classroom, as a group or individually knows and can do relative to their optimum development and to the program goals. The knowledge so gathered helps in implementing a reliable curriculum and effective instructional strategies to help the children learn and develop through consistent monitoring of their progress (Cammilleri, 2009, 3-4).

Summative assessment, e.g.  Tests, final projects and examinations. Used formally for measuring growth and achievement at the end of the year or unit. Formative assessment is used to determine progress made by a student in the course of a lesson or unit. They include quizzes and student independent assessment.

The performance objective create refers to the performance and creation within the discipline of music. Relate PO refers to, interdisciplinary, social or historical nature of the discipline. Evaluate PO is the criticism side of the discipline (Cammilleri, 2009, 3-4).
