The fundamental existence of Boeing’s code is to aid employees in common struggles they mind find at work, and provide them with favorable working conditions in order to make of Boeing a safe and comfortable place to work. Boeing’s focuses their attention on maintaining a healthy environment for their workers as well as their customers. As a result of the great pride the company takes on creating a safe environment for everyone in every aspect possible, they are dedicated to the most fuel efficient plans that are both efficient, and safe for the environment. In order to commit to this, Boeing operations are not only in compliance with all environmental laws and regulations but far exceed the basic health requirements in every aspect proposed. They prevent pollution by conserving energy and resources, recycling, and reducing waste to a minimum. Moreover, they continually research new and innovative ways to improve the company’s tactics and performance which often accounts for the company’s tremendous success. Next, Boeing not only incorporates their clean air policy into their code, but they also have a separate environmental policy that is particularly difficult to obtain under normal regulations. In their environmental policy, they commit to improving operational efficiency by producing lightweight materials and commercializing new fuel sources. Under their code of ethics, they are committed to protecting human rights worldwide with the highest standards and applying a zero tolerance policy. They subsequently believe that their code of ethics should govern all aspects of the performance of the company. With this code of ethics they plan to ensure that each of their employees is very well protected and working in the safest environment that can be provided. Subsequently, they want to ensure that they retain the most highly qualified people for the job regardless of religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical, mental disabilities or any other possible form of discrimination. In this manner, they clearly outline that discrimination is extremely prohibited and will not be tolerated at any given instance. Employees of Boeing respect the rights of their employees to join any lawful organization and abide by this code in a recurring manner. Boeing wants all of its employees to work together cooperatively to make their jobs more efficient, and far more satisfactory. As a result, they foster communication through employee engagement and encourage cooperative work in tasks where an employee might have more knowledge of than the other, cultivating a teaching environment for the better of the company and its employees.
Analysis
I truly believe that this company reciprocates to the code of ethics it has established. Beginning with their view of every single person as a leader, I can truly admire the opportunities that are provided for every single employee to advance and grow in what they do. I find that this is a great tactic because every person that comes to work for Boeing has the opportunity expand their knowledge in their field and increase their salary while becoming more efficient. Secondly, I marvel at the value that Boeing places on diversification through having individuals from varying different backgrounds that can implement their own ideas and provide their own resourceful opinions. They propose the idea that having a diversified workforce makes it easier to achieve diverse customers all around the world through overcoming any cultural boundaries that could potentially be imposed by a monotonic workforce. The way Boeing appreciates their employees is exemplified by the honor and awards they provide for them as a result of their outstanding work. To further prove the fact that this is a fact within the company, they received the workplace equality award in 2009 for diversity. Only two companies have won this award-Boeing being one of them. The code adequately serves the purpose that they have enacted for it. They state that their main objective is protecting the environment and have complied by their promise. By following these codes they ensure that the environment does not suffer any possible damage as a result of production within the company. This code ensures employees that they will be treated fairly and will be provided with the opportunities necessary for their growing success within the company. The code forms a part of a company that is genuinely concerned about its workers and the end product they produce. This has a great impact on the image of the company and is the reason why so many customers value the service they are given at Boeing. Because of their exemplary high standards, people respect the name Boeing. This reputation that Boeing has created for itself in turn results in continuous high expectations. Finally, Boeing’s vision and values, as aforementioned, directly coincide with its ethical codes. At the top of their list of values is integrity and providing a comfortable environment for their employees. Under this value the company is vowing to practice high ethical standards at all times. Moreover, they discuss the quality they strive to provide as being a premium that ensures they will accomplish great quality the first time. They also discuss trust and respect and in order to maintain trust and respect from their employees and stakeholders, Boeing strives to act with consistency and integrity. Building trust and maintaining trust is of very high value to the company.
