Essay

Introduction

Education should never be the goal, but the important step to improve one’s life, gain knowledge, and become a person one wants to be. A college degree does not guarantee a job, skills, and the ability to survive difficult situations. Starting higher education without clearly defined goals in life would create a disadvantage for students. Therefore, it is important to reflect on personal goals before beginning a course and determining the main objectives, focus areas, and personal missions related to one’s studies.

Career Goals

After gaining a bachelor degree, I would like to start a career in real estate management. I believe that the course I selected will enable me to learn critical analytical and interpersonal communication skills that will enable me to do that particular job better. While at university, I am planning to carry on researching opportunities, trends, and management skills that are related to the real estate market. I believe that today’s education provides students with the flexibility to focus on the areas of study that they are interested in. This approach will give me the opportunity to study various aspects of business management, personal approaches to obtaining one’s goals, and communicating with customers, as well as other stakeholders. I am looking to improve my analytical skills in order to become an effective and knowledgeable real estate agent who can easily identify trends, spot opportunities, and overcome challenges. Critical thinking, encouraged by higher education will help me develop my own working and management approaches, based on my personality traits and preferences.

Family Goals

For me, getting a degree and gaining knowledge is a method of personal transformation. I know exactly what type of person I would like to become: one who wants to support his family, lead as an example, and show integrity in everything he does. Therefore, I am planning to get a job in real estate management, support my family financially, and become a role model for younger siblings. Further, I would like to gain financial independence by getting a good grade, and securing a stable employment. I believe that by learning about different aspects of business, financial markets, and customer trends, I will be able to face the challenges that await me during my career. By building up my experience, I would like to later help younger members of my family pursue their dream, follow their own path, and become the person they would like to be. I would like to discover my strengths and development areas in order to improve my skills needed in life and my professional career.

I would like to finally raise a family with strong values and a sense of responsibility. I would also like to become involved in volunteering during the university years, in order to learn more about my work ethics, approaches, and improve my leadership skills that will be needed to bring forward new initiatives in work and the society. By volunteering, I would like to become a role model for my future family, showing them that life is not only about making the most out of the opportunities offered, but also about giving back to the community, and helping those who are less fortunate than them.

Related Studies

I would like to make the most out of each class while working towards my bachelor degree. I would like to learn as much as I can, so I can start working with the knowledge and skills necessary to do my future job to my best abilities and become a successful real estate manager. I am a perfectionist,  therefore, I will aim for an A in every class. However, I also understand that it is impossible to get through university without missing a few scores. I will set a target for each class and study area, with focusing on the lessons that are the most related to my chosen career. I also know that the requirements of university mean that sometimes one needs to set priorities. I am willing to create a personal mission statement for university years, and a target grade for each class to work towards. This way, I can remain focused, manage my time and projects, while being able to learn some essential discipline rules that will be necessary in the future when I enter the world of employment. I want to take learning about business and society seriously, as I am offered an opportunity that will never return. I know that some people simply go to university because their parents want them to study one area. However, I am a self-motivated person who is focused on personal development and goals.

Conclusion

I believe that getting a bachelor degree is a journey that is full of challenges, questions, and opportunities. I would like to ensure that I make the most out of my time spent in higher education, so I can become a person who creates value for the rest of the society, is knowledgeable, professional, caring, and responsible.
