Lab Report

Introduction

Anemia is considered to be among the most common blood issues among human individuals today. Characterized by low blood count, an individual with anemia is usually pale and nauseous. The composition of the blood includes a liquid part and a cellular part. The cellular part is characterized with the different cell types; however, the most populated cell types in blood are that of the red blood cells. Most likely, in a person who is anemic, the red blood cell counts receive low-grade concentration. Most often than not, medical practitioners view anemia as a symptom of another disease rather than it being considered as a disease itself. This then imposes the fact that in instances when anemia is diagnosed in a person several other ailments are being investigated upon. In the experiment that has been undergone, an understanding what age-range among men and women are likely to incur anemia is practically defined.

Materials and Methods

Sphygmomanometer

Stethoscope

Record Card

The handlers of the experiment considered several participants and got their blood pressure report with the use of a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Each participant’s result from the test has been recorded down to be used as reference for the assessment process. Understandably, the recorded results shall be the basis of whether or not the hypothesis that supports the study that is being undergone by the handlers of the experiment.

Results

Out of the 49 participants, 12 are men and 37 are women. From the 37 women, 24 individuals belong to the age range of 19-26 and the remaining 13 belong to the 26-35 age range. From this rate, the younger women were reported to have a normal range of blood pressure while the older women were observed to have higher chances of developing anemia. The same thing goes with the male participants as the 8 younger males are observed to have normal blood pressure, while the older males are actually more prone to incurring lower blood pressure measurement.

Discussions

It is assumed that the lower range of blood pressure among older women could be affected by two particular factors which include their monthly period of menstruation which pushes then to undergo massive blood loss that at some point does not get replenished due to imbalanced diet. Along with this is that of the fact that as a person ages, lesser physical activity is incurred as part of an everyday body enhancement hence lessening the capability of the bone-marrows to produce red blood cells. The same reason goes with the older males having lower blood pressure measurements.

Conclusion

From the experiment and observation analysis that has been presented herein, it could be considered that people usually incur anemia as they age. In cases where younger generations also get involved in such an ailment, several factors such as balanced diet and regular physical activity could be reconsidered. While the body has the capability to repair itself, it is dependent on the desire of one to remain healthy through completely involving themselves in a healthy lifestyle.
