Concept of gangs in the usa

• This section will explore the legal ramifications, from the criminal justice perspective of gangs operating in the USA.  Consideration of international dimensions and external influences with particular focus on the drug trade.
• The types on genre of gangs operating in the USA (Carlie, 2011)
• Statistical information on significance of crime and gang operations (Tsou, 1997)
• Legal implications of criminal activity performed by gangs
• Specific focus on drug trade and arms trade
• The role of the FBI in dealing with gang crime (FBI, 2011)

Recommendations

This section will provide a personal reflection on the adequacy of criminal justice and the legal approach in dealing with the criminal activities of gangs.  What might be improved or further accomplished in order to improve the existing situation in the USA.  Particular focus upon the work carried out by the FBI, Interpol and other Federal Agencies. How might external threat be mitigated to prevent the development and growth of gang criminology in the USA.
