Career Plan II, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 441

Essay

At first I wanted to get a job as a researcher in the pharmaceutical field, but since then I decided that I want to get a job in clinical pharmacology because it’ll give me a chance to really apply what I learned. Have I applied for any programs or jobs, actually yes I have. I applied for a job at WRP in hopes of getting a federal job, hopefully in the pharmacology field so I can live my dream of working in my field of study and it just so happens that I’ve got a phone interview with WRP (Workforce Recruitment Program) this coming Friday, November the 13th; hopefully a few job opportunities arise after the phone interview but I’m hopeful.

What I learned about myself while working on my internship and getting the relevant experience, I want to work in the clinical pharmacy field because I can apply what I learned in my undergraduate studies and I really want to be on the frontlines so to speak making a difference which is a real motivator for me; it was also the motivator behind why I chose to go into this field in the first place. Through those experiences alone, I feel like I’ve gained the abilities and skills needed to function and administer problem-solving techniques to solve all sorts of problems or to prevent new problems from surfacing at the very least.

I’ve conducted my own job searches and worked in various workshops that are preparing and strengthening my chances of getting an actual job in my field, I’ve got my resume reviewed by going to some of the off campus career fairs; some were very impressed with what they saw.

Well, an aspect of this process that I’m currently working on is getting into a pharmacy grad school program so as to continue my education and complete the PHARMD program not to mention training towards getting a job in the pharmacy field after I graduate. I’m also studying different grad schools that have clinical pharmacy programs that I can take courses in so that’ll put me on an even faster track towards my goal, I’m currently taking a few prep course in order to get a feel for the grad school course overall.

In closing, I have a lot of plans and ideas in the works toward where I want to go in my field of study and my ultimate goal of getting into my preferred pharmacy/grad school. I will follow through on these plans in my efforts of getting my professional life on track while moving toward my goal of getting into grad school at the latest, 2018; 2017 at the earliest.
