A classroom management plan is a detailed summary of the policies, goals, and procedures that apply in the classroom. While some teachers think that punishment is the order of the day in to achieve goals, this turns to be a wrong assumption, as students require a humble environment to study in peace. The classroom management plan thus becomes an essential tool in an education setup. Every problem approached and handled in an efficient manner, to neither harming the student nor the teacher. If need be for discipline, then it ought to be a painless and friendly one that only corrects, but not punishing the student. The major goal for all this is to provide a peaceful environment, with a cool atmosphere to study, failure to which, the learning process affected.
The classroom, which is the principal place that learning occurs, need be a comfortable study environment. A well-ventilated room with the right size of windows, with walls painted using vibrant colors provides a warm welcome to the classroom. If there are wall hangings like maps and charts, then they placed in a strategic manner to be visible from all angles (Marzano, 2003 P 168). The wall hangings enhance critical thinking of students as other have the chance of asking themselves imaginary questions, improving their memory. The floor need be cemented or tiled, and spotlessly clean to allow students walk in feeling great.
Arrangement of furniture as the chairs and desks is particularly essential especially in avoidance of small accidents during movement. Seats arranged in straight rows while the teachers table lies exactly at the centre, in front of the classroom. This enables the teacher to view and examine each student during lessons. It also enables students to have face-face interactions during discussions. These discussions essential to enable students work as a group, in coming up with a solution of some difficult problem. It gives them time to think critically as they share ideas, innovate, and invent new ways of solving problems. Some space also left behind the classroom to allow students to spread out in dancing and singing lessons. Some shelves too placed at the corners to keep reference materials as textbooks and journals.
Emotional and behavioral management
The behavioral and emotional management taken care by the administration. These represent essential management plans, which if not well taken care of, affect the student life from all aspects (Charles, 2008 P 146). The effect not only applies in school, but in the future endeavors of the student. To achieve behavioral and emotional management, the administration first uses the primary prevention plan. This plan classifies students into categories of their mannerism. An effective teaching accompanied with extracurricular lessons done as per category. This approach helps determine and separate characters with wanting behaviors from the rest of the group.
Another approach is the secondary prevention plan, which involves protecting, and preventing students at the risk of developing emotional and behavioral problems. This is where self-management and pre-correction training carried out. The small categorical groups of students receive interventions of social and academic support. In the process, disciplinary problems solved. In the presence of trustworthy personnel, personal problems like family matters discussed and handled. This offers assistance at tertiary level. Immediate friends of the student at hand examined while examining the problem (Wong, & Wong, 2005 P 123). Issues to do with emotions could be running down the family lineage but solved at his point. Family issue could as well be an issue affecting the students’ performance, and it is at this point that they handled. Social environment management
The aim of maintaining a social environment is enabling the student life freely with comfort. The student feels at the place and mingles with everyone freely. In this case, the discipline philosophy taken care of as personal management encouraged. Students in class live like brothers and sisters and become student-centered instead of being teacher centered. Respect for everyone regardless of the social status encouraged (Marzano, 2003 P. 56). Regardless of the intelligence level of the student, every student has a role, to perform while services by the weak students appreciated even more. This enhances personal recognition and appreciation, while the differences in ability covered. No student in class should be superior to the rest due to leadership or outstanding performance. Students given equal opportunities to access all school resources while and sharing highly encouraged. Social classes organized where students intermingle and share their problems creating a strong social environment.
For proper functioning of any place, there has to be rules and regulations. The classroom is not an exemption. Certain rules followed to achieve the desired goals. Behaviors like noise making in class not allowed, and if one breaks the rule, then there are consequences to follow. If a student fails to do homework, there are consequences. Other misbehavior and mistakes include lateness, rudeness, untidiness, mischievousness, or even breaking glass windows intentionally. The consequences, however, need not be adverse, but just correctly address the misbehavior associated. The consequences should directly relate to the breached rule and not otherwise. A student who fails to do homework, for example, should undergo a punishment that denies him/her chance to enjoy tea breaks, lunch breaks, or games to make him /her answerable in the future to do the homework. The kind of misbehavior clearly studied and identified if it is early stage misbehavior, a mistake needing attention, whether it is awareness misbehavior of a habitual misbehavior (Charles, 2008 P. 65). The teacher then comes with a way to handle the misbehavior. A positive approach to adhering to classroom rules invented, and this enables students to have informed choices with an expanded opportunity to study.
A teacher psychologically prepared that should a given misbehavior occur, then a plan exists on how to handle it. Procedures and their maintenance
For successful achievement of maintaining classroom rules, various procedures followed. The classroom procedures describe how things done. A detailed plan set where students comply with the schedule in the plan while in the classroom. A job chart, for example, is essential in carrying out daily activities. While some students have the role of doing the floor cleaning, others have the role of cleaning the board while others are recycles and line heads. Assignments of roles done at the begging of the study period while the allocation of roles done randomly. Only students with significant medical conditions, say allergies to dust, exempted from carrying out some duties as cleaning classrooms. However, they too allocated to simpler duties.
Responsibility encouraged as those who carry out their roles responsively entitled to rewards and incentives. In case of a prefect, monitor or student leader who cannot perform duties responsibility, then the title delegated to someone else. Being strict and insisting on the essentials of the duties improves the students arch to do such jobs responsibly. Some students do not keep neat work. Some have disgusting handwritings while some are just wreck less in all their activities. Such students need procedures that involve them in free writing assignments as their work arrangement monitored and corrected from time to time (Charles, 2008 P. 122).Assignment given a score contribution, in the final exam mark to motivate students who are non-timekeepers in delivering assignments. An uncompleted assignment means a zero score, thus affecting the final grade. This encourages all students to work hard towards completing assignments in time. Students who cannot arrange their work sensibly given summaries of daily lessons and encouraged to read them, understand the concept and make their short notes. Students encouraged participating in-group work, tests, and quizzes as marks rewarded for participation.

The physical environment, social, and even the administration participation in maintaining the emotional and behavioral misbehavior are all essential. This entire combine to provide an environment secured for learning. The teachers should have in mind that punishment is not the key to discipline; otherwise, the relationship built between the student and teacher is what determines performance. When a student is free to approach a teacher and pass his / her problem that, a solution comes up to a prevailing performance weakness (Wong & Wong 2005 P. 115). Any teacher has the potentiality of coming up with such an environment, so it better done than ignored.
