Cloud Computing, Essay Example

In my own words, the Internet is a computer program that allows people to exchange ideas. Ultimately, it allows us to communicate in an efficient manner, which contributes to collaborations that help further what is possible in the world of computing. Internet connection methods include wireless, broadband, and dial-up. When the Internet was first popularized for in home use, dial-up was the most common connection method. This depends primarily on the modem that an individual has available. Since some geographical areas are not heavily populated and therefore do not have the infrastructure required to run wireless internet and broadband, many people still utilize dial-up service today. Cloud computing is shared resources, software, and information that are provided to users over a network. There are both public and private versions of this service in addition to a hybrid form. Thus, it has many practical uses, including allowing a user to access the same document on two different computers and allowing him or her to back up important files. The main function of a web browser is to bring information to the user who searched for it. Typically, the input is a URL and the output is a website. My preferred web browser of choice is Google Chrome, because its “extensions” options allows the user to modify the information they receive. Therefore, unwanted advertisements and pop ups can be blocked and the amount of tracking data that is recorded by the websites visited can be reduced.
