Pages: 3

Words: 713

Essay

Terrorism is the moist substantive threat to global peace presented to the nations of the world in the twenty- first century. The days where two nations would have clearly delineated differences which they would attempt to settle by diplomatic means and if necessary, engaged in a restricted battlefield conflict are gone. The actions of IDIS do not adhere to the regulations governing war that have been established by the Geneva Convention (Nebehay 1). The faction designated as ISIS has spread its chaos to the areas of Yemen, South Sudan and Nigeria while threatening the global order. The endeavors of the Coalition Forces against ISIS were examined in the essay.

There is a quality of urgency that must be directed with regards to ISIS. The ISIS group was created by the United States in order to deter the adminstratyio0ns of Iraq which the United States and other coalition members did not support. Although the Iraqi governance which had previously governed Iraq prior to the outbreak of the Iraqi War had been somewhat ineffective, the citizens of the nation of Iraq had been able to experience a sense of normalcy. The removal of Sadaam Hussein from authority in Iraq has left a void. The void in governance has been conveniently filled by ISIS. Many of the nations of the world have vowed to support the strikes which are intended to degrade the ISIS faction. There are more than forty nations which have promised to contribute aid in the fight against ISIS (Chengu 1).

The Coalition Forces who support the United Nations Security Council resolution believe, that the funding that is sent to the Islamic State should be stopped. The act of stopping the funding to ISIS has become difficult due to ISIS techniques of attacking civilians and brainwashing people in their places of worship. Secondly, ISIS par8icpates in the execution of journalist who report their activities within the Iraqi and Syrian borders. It is not certain the manner by which to empower the Iraqi and Syrian legitimate governments in order to counter the effects of ISIS. In addition, the Coalition forces can be applied more effectively if the regional powers that Include Iran put aside petty differences with other nations. Finally, the coalition forces must address the manner by which ISIS recruits freedom fighters into its ranks in order to extend its influence (Chengu 1).

The Coalition Forces which abide by the United Nations Security Council Res. 2169 must demonstrate reaffirmation for the legitimate governments of Syria and Iraq in their counter actions to the Islamic State. In addition, the activities which include money laundering and the systems of hawala must be curtailed. Some of the nations which are participants in the coalition forces are the nations of France, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran (UNSC 1)

Some of the members of the coalition have discords with other members. In order to subdue the Islamic state, these differences must be delegated a secondary position. This is attributed to the danger and the rising influence gained by the members of ISIS. It has been stated that ISIS has captured and put to use more than $1 billion of abandoned military equipment. ISIS has had access to Chinese, Soviet and American made military technology which were left behind as a result of the Iraqi Conflict (Military Factory 1).

Conclusion

ISIS was originally created in order to destabilize the nations of Iraq and Syria. ISIS has established itself as a faction which is seeking to promote the global ideals associated with a global Islamic kingdom. It is difficult to counter against ISIS due to their recruiting practices. ISIS has fulfilled the power void left by the United States in its dethroning of Sadaam Hussein.
