Capstone Project

Introduction

Nurses continue to play a significant role in the development of a strategy to accommodate patients with respect to plans of care and other needs that support issues of interest and out of necessity. Most importantly, nurses must be able to exercise sound and reasonable judgment in working with their patients in an effort to produce effective outcomes, while also considering the options that are available that will impact health in a favorable manner. At the local level, healthcare needs require an examination of the different tools and resources that impact health and wellbeing, given the populations that exist within a given community. As a result, it is necessary to evaluate the conditions under which individuals are able to contribute to the success of the practice environment and the overall development of services to support their patients. The use of prior evidence must be considered in managing policies and procedures that impact patients and in determining which steps are required to support patient health and wellbeing. It is imperative that patients must receive the appropriate resources at the local level from their healthcare providers to ensure that their healthcare needs are met at a comprehensive level at all times.

Body

The decisions made by healthcare providers at the local level must be examined more closely in order to determine the best possible approach to manage comprehensive care as best as possible. However, barriers continue to exist that impact how health services are obtained and who receives them, and this impacts what steps are required to accommodate patients across different population groups. Actions such as improving health literacy must be considered and must reflect the importance of shaping an environment in which patient care is a critical priority without limitations, and specifically, mental health literacy is essential in the modern era with the continued growth and expansion of the practice setting and the needs of the clients who are served (Jorm, 2012). From a regulatory point of view, it is necessary for patients to receive a comprehensive set of services that will influence their decision-making and support the continued growth and development of the practice environment on a continuous basis.

Conducting routine assessments of best practices within local communities is a critical component of the practice setting and requires nurses to be mindful of the needs of their patients, along with emerging trends and disease states in public health and in other areas (Maurer & Smith, 2012). This reflects the importance of shaping an environment in which clients receive the services that they need on an efficient basis so that they are able to manage their health as best as possible (Maurer & Smith, 2012). The process of developing new policies or enhancing existing frameworks requires nurses to be mindful of the needs of their patients and how these needs will best be addressed with the appropriate strategy in place (Maurer & Smith, 2012). The family unit must be considered as a whole in determining this process and in supporting an environment in which patient care is a critical priority, rather than a focus on one area of need (Maurer & Smith, 2012).

For patients within local communities, it is important to identify the specific areas that impact their health in a comprehensive manner, using the tools and resources that are available to support wellness. For example, public policy creation must support an environment in which patient care is of the utmost importance and in which there is a greater need to support patients through specific activities that impact their wellbeing (McMurray & Clendon, 2015). The continued expansion of primary health services fills some of the void that may exist in some communities with respect to healthcare practice and also demonstrates an understanding of the dynamics of care and treatment that influence how patients receive care and treatment at the local level (McMurray & Clendon, 2015). Therefore, community-based policies and healthcare practices must demonstrate a need to support a climate of care that will have a positive impact on health over the long term (McMurray & Clendon, 2015).

Community-based wellness must reflect the importance of new perspectives that coordinate behavioral changes in promoting mental and physical health (Barden, Conley, & Young, 2015). This is a critical step in the development of new approaches to healthcare practice that impact patients and in supporting an environment in which patient behaviors are a critical priority that must be addressed in a timely manner (Barden et.al, 2015). These practices require nurses to be mindful of the needs of their patients and in supporting a climate where their behaviors towards health practices are examined further to determine the steps that are required to accommodate change as necessary (Barden et.al, 2015). This process will also influence how nurses perceive patient behaviors and how they impact their own decision-making and policy development that is specifically focused on best practices in community health to support greater wellbeing for all patients (Barden et.al, 2015).

Conclusion

Patient health in the community setting requires nurses to be mindful of the needs of their patients and the overall development of policies and best practices that are in their best interests at all times. This process will also ensure that patients receive the best possible care and treatment to address emerging needs and also to acquire education that will enable them to modify their behaviors as necessary to support changes within the practice setting. It is imperative that nurses are able to accommodate patients through their behaviors and in their support of models that will have a positive impact on their health and wellbeing throughout the life span.
