Complaining Is Bad for Your Health, Outline Example

Introduction

• Every person finds himself or herself in a situation of complain every day. This is in relation to members of the family, customers, co-workers, friends and even strangers.
• Most people fail to understand the implications that are associated with the procedure applied in voicing complain.

Effects of complaining

• Available statistics from research have indicated that, involvement in complains for a duration of half an hour every day is associated with physical damages to the brain of the person. This involves the person gripping the complain or the person listening to the complain (Conway & Vartanian, 181–199).
• Exposure to such complains is responsible for peeling the neurons in a part of the brain called hippocampus, whose function involves solving problems and serving cognitive function.
• Complaining may develop in to a habit among some individuals. A person exposed to complainers is most likely to become one as well.

Common causes of complains

• Complaining comes after an individual encounters situations of frustration and dissatisfaction and this situations renders one to be powerless to achieve a certain goal or improve a particular situation (Conway & Vartanian, 181–199).
• Feelings of helplessness, victimization and hopelessness become apparent in an individual. If such incidents are less common in our lives, then they are if no significant negative effect to our health.
• However, if incidences of complains become a common occurrence in our daily lives, feelings of helplessness as frustration negatively affects our mood and self esteem leading to development of health issues in our bodies.

Conclusion

Complaints do not always serve the best interests of achieving the intended results. In most cases, people are actively engaged in complains to achieve emotional release and catharsis. This is particularly true for the people who have in the past experienced at one time in their lives.
