Introduction
The ethical issues between considering the different issues regarding abortion and how it is recognized in the world at present implicate a sense on how morals are protected accordingly. However, as time changes and knowledge about the most controversial issues that humans have to deal with also adjusts. One of these controversies is the issue on abortion, its acceptance and its legalization in the face of developed learning and research procedures that are adapted by the social communities around the globe. Gone are the days when the topic of abortion is considered a taboo; now it is already being debated and argued upon, making it a social concern that basically instantiates a sense of development especially in the aspect of realizing what moral values is about.
In this argument presentation, the discussion would be much in favor of supporting the ideas against the legalization of abortion. In line with the desire respect the value of life, this presentation shall try to provide more distinct evidence that counter responds to the arguments that are imposed by the legal sanctions and provisions that are used to back up the real essence of what abortion is about.
Issues against Legalization
Life is holy; life is life. This has often been the carrier notification of what anti-abortion campaigns are trying to pursue. What makes legalization issues less interesting for prolife campaigners is the fact that life ought to be respected. It is viewed as a gift from a supreme creator and somehow, its value is incomparable to anything. Nevertheless, individuals and groups supporting the implication of the legalization of abortion do support the idea behind the distinct course of mandating a better sense of what has been researched upon with regards women’s health and how such new information support the ideal implication of respective one’s life and one’s right to embracing matters that life offers.
According to the research posted in Procon.org, abortion presents a great impact on how women’s health is viewed as an important aspect of social being. Critical studies have been produced just so to support this idealism. In a way, healthcare professionals support the fact that women who are giving birth to a child [may it be through normal delivery or through caesarian section] is placed in a high rate of risk that puts her life and even that of the child’s life in danger. Not to mention the notion that the nine months of pregnancy that a woman needs to go through when conceiving a child may affect not only her physical being but also that of her mental and social capacity of embracing life. This is what pro-abortion groups use in support of the campaign they are pursuing.
On the other hand, several thousands of years have already passed and pregnancy and delivering a baby has always been considered risky; yet, there is always a way to comfort a woman going all through these procedures. Not to mention that with the existence of modern medicine, the possibility of further protecting the lives of the mothers during and after pregnancy has become a more realizable option to take. Apart from being protected, mothers who actually give birth to their children are observed to have been able to recover faster from the delivery especially if they get that immediate attachment with their newborn babies.
Psychologists support the fact that child birth may be both troublesome and daunting for many mothers; nevertheless, the real gift of having a child and rearing a young person into adulthood is what life is about. It somehow increases the rate of happy and satisfactory feeling that person [in this case a woman] feels especially when such experience is accepted with full consideration to the benefits it shall give the mother.
While it is attested through modern educational researches that abortion does present a much safer option for women who get impregnated at the wrong time, it is still recognized that proper consideration on these serious matters especially in saving an unborn child’s life benefits the mother and the child more [especially if the situation is viewed at a much positive manner]. While the physical pressure may be daunting, mothers themselves realize and accept the fact that when it come child birth and child rearing, the real benefits come from the feeling of being complete and fulfilled as a mother.
Final Remarks
The argument against the legalization of abortion is presented in this discussion to be specifically related to how abortion would affect the individual in the long run. It is realized that even though there are benefits that abortion could give to the mother especially in relation to the aspect of physical health, undergoing through the process of killing an unborn child does have a sense of impact especially affecting the woman in the long run; and somehow such effects are more long lasting compared to how physical stability could be restored at a much shorter span of time.
The protection given to the overall being and the personal integrity of a woman as in individual is what is being given much higher attention to in pursuing a campaign against abortion. People who understand the real value of life know for a fact that respecting life, even that of the unborn is a part of the important aspects of human nature.
